It's been a couple of days and have used the clarisonic brush morning and night. I must say that I am very pleased by the results. When I clean my face with it, I feel as if I just left a salon and had a facial! MY skin is glowing, silky smooth.... and looks incredibly healthy. This really was a great investment. I hope everyone can enjoy the same results! |

I bought the Clarisonic over a month ago, but haven't really used it because I've been having issues with acne. My skin has gotten better since then, but because of the acne topicals I use, there was a lot of dead skin that needed exfoliation. I'd been using Paula's Choice 2% BHA and an AHA for exfoliation, but whipped out the Clarisonic because the flakies were out of control. It did a decent job on the flakies, but the most noticeable thing it did for me was on the blackheads on my nose. I went into the shower with blackheads on my nose and after using the Clarisonic, I came out with NO blackheads! I was amazed. I've never seen my nose that clean. Because of the nature of my nose (and probably the fact that those blackheads have been there for more than a decade), they did reappear, but it was pretty amazing to see them gone, even temporarily. |

Whose post are you referring to? Most of the comments here about the Clarisonic are very positive. |

Others have suggested that pores may eventually become enlarged due to the aggressive nature of the Clarisonic.
I have had my Clarisonic for a few weeks, but never use it more than every other day or so.. even with the "gentle" brush head ("gentle" doesn't seem much different from the "sensitive" brush head), I still find the Clarisonic is a bit too scratchy on my cheeks. It's okay for 10 seconds or so, but, I am leery of anything that hurts, esp. when using it on a regular basis. But, I do think my face is pretty clean. |

I find it hard to believe that someone's pores got larger due to the Clarisonic - I and many others have had the opposite occur. Understand, another product may be contributing to this -- for instance, whatever cleanser they are using -- or improper use (let the brush's sonic waves do the work v. pressing hard with the brush against your skin).
One person who kept examining their pores started this thread. This person even admitted it might be psychological - that she is obsessive about staring at her pores.

Something very baffling is happening to my skin. I've been using the Clarisonic twice a day, everyday for the past 5 months. I have gotten great results in terms of clarity and smoothness during my first few months of using, but the longer i use it, i'm starting to see little/no difference. I still continue using it coz i like seeing how much makeup the brush takes off whenever i rinse it after cleansing. Also, it might be a psychological thing; the feeling that my skin is not the cleanest it can be if i don't use it. BUT, my main issue is, i'm finding that my pores are BIGGER, especially pores on my cheeks and forehead. I know because I've always been a freak, often examining every inch of my face with a magnifying glass. As a result of this enlargement of pores, i have gotten white protruding needles stuck in them (ones i can scratch out easily---sorry i know it's gross)---> i get clogged pores so easily now. They are few and far between, but i still get them in places i never used to get them before i.e. forehead and cheeks. My question is, could it be the brush stretching the pore walls? Could the dirt and oil routinely sucked up by the brush actually expand pore size? I'm going to cut back to using this once a week to see what becomes of my skin. Just wondering if this is the case with any of you. |
I'm not saying the Clarisonic is right for everyone and it definitely might not be for people with very sensitive skin. But I will say that the Clarisonic has been around for a number of years. And there are a lot of skin specialists, aestheticians, and dermatologists that recommend it. Many people in the skin care business use it for pre-procedural cleansing: www.clarisonic.com/professional/use.php

My question is to experienced Clarisonic users. I'm going to get botox to my "11" in a few days. Can I use Clarisonic there after the injection? Or should I wait for few days?
Same question about fillers - Is there some waiting period for Clarisonic?
Thanks in advance. |

Ask whoever is doing the botox and fillers. I would NOT think it's a problem (though LED is) but better to ask and not have any regrets... |

One can't use an LED if they have botox? |

Don't use the LED over the area that has been botoxed. It will deplete the botox and/or fillers at a more rapid rate if you do. You can use it on other areas though. |

You also don't want to use your clarisonic or any thing that is ultrasonic ie, skin spatula, because you will break up your fillers, however, keep in mind botox is not a filler. |

Thank you! for clearing up a bit of confusion I've had re: LED and fillers. I came across this info a while ago and couldn't recall where I'd heard it. Where did you hear it?

I heard about it here on EDS. I guess it is a point of some controversy. You can read more about it on another recent thread - varying opinions, etc.:

I just got back from about three weeks on the road. No Clarisonic, unfortunately, since I travel as lightly as possible. Well, now that me and my 10X mirror are reunited, I'm seeing a lot of clogged pores and even some blackheads. Ugh!! So I will be happy to get back to my daily Clarisonic regimen. I didn't mean to try an experiment to see if the Clarisonic was making a difference in my skin, but I think my three week hiatus proved to me that it does.
Sadly, I'm off again for another week and a half this afternoon. Bye, Clarisonic, see ya in a bit! |

Do you have a microfiber cloth or sponge you can take with you? I take one when I travel cause like you I travel as light as possible. |

Yes, I do travel with one of the PSF microfiber cloths. It's really good but apparently not quite as good as the Clarisonic.
I should also note that I was reapplying heavy duty sunscreen while away from home, partly because I was out and about outside a lot during the middle of the day instead of sitting at my desk. So possibly the microfiber cloth wasn't quite up to that challenge.
I do really like the PSF cloths, though. If I hadn't tried the Clarisonic, I'd think they were as good as it gets. |

So what was the conclusion to this? I'm wanting to get the clarisonic brush but if you only see results for a few months what's the point? |
I was thinking about it too. They do say the clarisonic improves absorption of serums and cream. Did anyone find this to be true?
Maybe I will use it once a day and then do a HA serum/VitC/Q10 mask to improve firmness and close pores.
I did a lot of reading regarding pores (since mine have been getting bigger and bigger in the past couple years due to stress)... Once your pores are there, they are there forever. It seems like they will never shrink unless you undergo laser therapy. And even with laser therapy you might have to repeat from time to time.
I guess the best treatment for enlarged pores and sagging skin is still what my mom said. 1. less make-up 2. good diet and lifestyle. But I guess the stress-free life can never be achieve nowadays unless you are a multi-billionaire that lives in a spa all day. LOL |

Well, I can only give you my conclusion.
The results continue from using the Clarisonic. There are both short term gains and long term gains from using the Clarisonic.
How to find out? Stop using your Clarisonic for a week and compare your skin to when you were using the Clarisonic? I think after that, you will quickly return to using the Clarisonic. People here have posted being away on a trip and only bringing a microfiber cloth and being disconcerted and quickly returning to the Clarisonic when they return home.
And, yes, I do find that products absorb better after using the Clarisonic. I think it has something to do with the sonic waves prepping the pores... (I'm not a scientist).
There are TONS of threads here on EDS (and elsewhere) on the Clarisonic. Do a search on EDS. Read reviews by customers, skin care professionals, etc. on other sites as well. I think you will find the majority are positive reviews. |

This is the first thread I felt I could contribute to! I'm nearly 70, have sensitive skin, and have a Clarisonic. I love it. My skin is cleaner, clearer, and smoother, and I miss it when I vacation without it.
For those of you who are having problems - you might consider using a different cleanser or more of the one you are currently using. My skin will burn if I don't use enough of my cream cleanser. Also, it takes a rather light touch. It does the work for you!
Sorry if this is too long - I lost my ability to be succinct at about 50!

HELLO
new to this clarisonic thread - looking into buying one - but does anyone know if you can get a Australian/NZ adapter for power sockets over here.
I read it comes with American version.
Basically every thread i have read on clarisonic - everyone loves this brush. Has anyone had any bad experiences? |
