I have some questions for people who use them.

What brand do you have/where did you buy?
How often do you steam?
Do you notice any irritation after using?

TIA to all who answer! Very Happy

Hi vonstella,

I have a Conair ... and I purchased it at a garage sale! Laughing

I have seen them in the store for about $25 ... [but mine was $5 at the garage sale!] Very Happy

I use it about 3 or 4 evenings a week. I used to use it both in the AM and the PM ... but I think that it dried my skin out too much. Now I just use it at night.

I have had no irritation ... but then the steamer isn't as harsh as the old pot of boiling water. It's more of a gentle mist ... and it's very relaxing.

HTH

Mary

I also have the Conair (I paid about $25. at Costco).

I might use it every week or two and find it pleasant to use with no irritation. Usually I will use a mask right after steaming, and have even better results with the mask since the steamer opens the pores.

Good to know, I was a bit confused as when to use a mask in the process. Thanks! Very Happy

hi, girls. I am a little worried that the steaming will enlarge the pores. Is it true??

I dont think so, it temp opens the pores so that the built up gunk will come out easier, when the skin cools they go back to normal size.

I second the recommendation for the Dr H steam concentrate Smile Also, I have been tempted to get one of these face steaming "appliances" for ages but somehow haven't got around to it. Does someone have one and find that they actually don't use it much? I just wonder if it's going to end up like my footspa - I love it but I'm too lazy to use it so I never do Embarassed

Has anyone actually tried the DrH steam concentrate with one of those steamers? I've used the Dr H with a bowl of water but my steamer only holds a tiny bit of water, maybe a tablespoon or two. How much Dr H should I put in there?

does a facial steamer really helps? i was thinking of getting one as well but i'm so lazy and wonder if i should take the risk of buying it since it may very well end up unused
i've heard that steaming helps with improving circulations..any significant visible improvements from facial steamers?
