Everyone ever taken things like Silica, Collagen, Hyaluronic acid, fish oil, or anything else internally that gave good results for their skin?
Anyone have an internal supplement routine for their skin? |

Yes I take Zinc, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, B Complex and have noticed my skin is much better than before I used to take supplements.
I also am a firm believer that you are what you eat and always try to eat a healthy balanced diet and drink a lot of water and herbal teas.
Your skin and outer body really is a window for what is going on on the inside. |

I've been taking milk thistle + tumeric, B complex, and protein powder regularly for the past 2 years.
My hormonal fluctuations and other skin related problems have improved soooo much since I started taking supplements, but not sure if I could pinpoint it to just one. So basically, I don't get much hormonally influenced skin problems anymore.
I am also starting to take HA, Silicea, and Flax + EPO oils, just to up my Omega 3 intake and see if it can help with problems with dryness..
But results do take a long time to see, especially if your body was undernourished in the first place. It was almost 1 year before I saw significant improvements with my health.
I totally agree with rosebud about the importance of diet, no matter how many supplements you take, it is a waste if your diet is unbalanced.
Plus, the quality of the supplements is also very important. No point in buying cheap stuff which is synthetically derived and in such low quantities that cannot be absorbed. |

Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, your omegas and CoQ10 are a great place to start.

I was sick of my nails constantly breaking.
I was taking Omega 3, primrose oil and a multi vitamin.
I have found that after I started taking Silica my nails have improved. Not as strong as I would like but a definate improvement. |

I take fish oil because it has so many health benefits. I think it helps. Nothing drastic. |

That will be Zinc and Milk Thistle.
But, I have stopped taking Milk Thistle although I know it really good in cleaning liver, but I read in askshelley.com that
Quote: |
There is a problem with taking Milk Thistle or any herb long term. you should only take liver herbs for about 3-4 months at most, then take about a 2-month break. Otherwise, you risk ramping up the cellular metabolism so much that you start creating cancer cells. |
So, I would recommend you replace the supplement with carrot juice. |

Juicing gives amazing results (full veggie or fruit-I am creative).
For a supplement, specifically for hair and nails, I have taken "Women’s Ultra Daily" clinically proven to promote hair, nail and skin wellness. It has multi vitamin and mineral supplements too. I love it and when I take a hiatus I definitely see a difference. Then there is the mandatory (after 30) calcium with magnesium…
