i mean besides the obvious of hives/rashes/burning..
i am never able to tell whether a product is just breaking me out (no good for my skintype) or if i am just allergic to it.
is a sudden burst of LOTS of whitehead or cystic acne where there was none before an indication of allergy?
how do you deal with it fastest to get it back to normal, besides cutting out that product? |

I would say if blemishes appear, this is not an allergic reaction-- the product is just not suitable for your skin. An allergy is usually more instant, and is irritating, like itchy bumps, inflammation, etc. |

I know it only because I feel hurt or see redness immediately after I apply it.... |

IMO, that is an irritation. I had that experience with Everyday Minerals. Conventional acne products don't get rid of it, so it's not acne. What helped calm my skin was PSF O2 serum and a calming, honey mask. The irritation subsided in 2 days. If it were acne, it would have taken longer than that. HTH. |

I almost always get an allergic reaction from skincare products . I just get these horrible itchy red rashes on my skin, that often also burn & sting as well...not pretty at all But I have previously heard that if you do have an allergic reaction to a product(s) it should actually occur within the first 2 hours post product application...i.e. if it occurs after this period then it is not related to the product but something else. |

My mom is allergic to an ingredient in chemical sun protectants. She didn't know this though and just kept putting more and more on (because she thought she was getting sunburned). She heard that people could be allergic to their sunscreen and stopped using it...and then the redness/itching went away! |
