This morning, I woke-up with the onset of a cold: headache, thick throat, bit of a cough. Yuck! It doesn't surprise me, as the weather in Vancouver changed within the past week (cool & wet). Also, as I often take the bus to work, I'm amongst the hoards of students crammed-in there too. Direct contact with a lot of peoples' germs/viruses.
I've heard a lot of good things about the herbal immuno booster Cold-FX. Some people swear by it, so I just went out and bought some. It's not cheap: 60 capsules, on-sale for $19.99.
Has anyone out there used this stuff, and if-so, what were your results?

This stuff totally does work ... most of the time. Probably 80% of the time when I take it as soon as I am starting to feel something coming on, it will make it either go away or lesson the symptoms. You need to catch it as soon as you feel that first tickle in the throat or whatever makes you feel you are getting sick. There have been a few times it hasn't helped ... maybe those times it was some super cold virus or something. I know other people who swear by it as well!
Usually in the winter I will take the 2 a day as a preventative and then the "routine" if I still feel like I'm starting to come down with something (in the summer I'll just do the "routine" if I feel I'm getting sick because it really IS so expensive ).
Where did you find it on sale for $19.99? That a great price! Usually I pay around $28. I might stock up if I can find it here on sale as well. |

Caspers Mum, i'm one of those crammed UBC students in the bus!! Do you take the 99 B Line? This is such a small world! Anyway, being the germophobic that i am, i cringe whenever someone crammed up against me coughs in my face, and make sure i scrub my hands good when i get off the bus. I swear after the first 2 weeks of school, i'm starting to get sick too. Right now i have an irritating itchy throat. I've been taking Cold FX for 2 years, and my colds haven't been so severe since. Sometimes if i'm lucky and I OD on it when i feel an onset, it goes away without getting full-blown. But when it does, i recover within 3-4 days (usually takes me more than a week). Get well soon! |

Sorry to hear that Mabsy. If you're in Canada, you can get them at London Drugs or Shoppers Drug Mart. If u're in the States, try CVS or Walgreens. Cold FX is essentially North American ginseng root. "COLD-fX aids in the production of specific immune cells, cytokines and antibodies — enhancing our immune system’s natural abilities, so it is better able to fight off germs."
Hope you're on your road to recovery! |

I heard so much about that stuff, never tried it though. Since it's getting cold lately I should get some soon. |
