Well ladies, I lucked out recently and managed to buy a jar of Burt's Bees Baby Bee Solid Perfume off of ebay. I have a very sensitive sense of smell and can't wear many perfumes because they give me a terrible headache, but I do like being lightly fragranced so I'm always on the lookout for pleasant, gentle perfumes. All I have to say is, this baby bee perfume is a home run! It's a very comforting blend of apricot and baby powder in a silky, solid base. I'm absolutely in LOVE with it! However, it's been discontinued for sometime, so once I run out I won't be able to get any more. I called up Burt's Bees today to ask if they would consider selling this product again, and they replied that they have already gotten requests for it to come back, and if they keep getting them they will indeed consider selling the item again. So, I know you ladies are busy, but could you please take a minute to either call (866-422-8787) or email (there's a form on their website) and request that they bring the Baby Bee Solid Perfume back? It really is a lovely product, and it's a godsend for ladies like me who have a hard time with "real" perfume. |

i bet if you hit up lovely forum member Candy8865, she'd be able to replicate it for you. her solid perfumes are amazing -- not too strong, but with a soft scent that lingers for a long, long time.... |

i thought so.... isn't manslayer the one with a penchant for chocolate???
Candy, , had to tell you a little story about me, the perfume, and my rehab guy.... put a little solid on my inner arm as i power walk there and can get a bit ripe. the other day in the middle of working on my elbow (gripping it like there was no tomorrow -- and i do have a tiny child-like arm), he answered the phone. i saw him kind of sniffing the air, then sniffing his fingers, realising it was him. he didn't say a word to me, but kept on sniffing and smiling every time he did so for the rest of the appointment. methinks you have a new fan! |

Hahahaha, you all know me too well! That's a great idea--- I'll definitely pester Candy about trying to duplicate this scent, if it won't try her patience, LOL!^-^
In the meantime, please keep calling/emailing BB, ladies! |

Does it smell anything like BB Baby shampoo bar? I LOVE that smell. Everytime I walk by it in the store and have to pick it up and smell it. Everyone that I know that has a baby gets this from me!
Candy will try to duplicate scents?!?! I just might have to send her a pm. I absolutely LOVE Thymes Ginger Milk, and it would be awesome in cindy's body butter.

hrm...
i'll have to try that for their bay rum aftershave lotion.
i love it, and my SO grew to like it, and it was a happy medium, because i HATE the smell of the commercial aftershaves out there <barf> so i bought him the BB, but now it's discontinued too
good luck with the solid perfume! |

I found a place that sells the aftershave you like. Unfortunately, they only state *essential oil blend*, which of course is really no help to me. Maybe you or someone else can describe the scents?

Yeah...they should really take it off of their website. If they don't carry it, it shouldn't be listed!
Sad.
I sent BB an email btw...We should start a petition!!! |

Hi Manslayerliz!
I think you're cool, so even though I'm a Thierry Mugler Angel kind of girl, I called Burt's Bees for you.
Had a half-hour conversation with someone the customer service gal transferred me to, who listened intently and asked many questions about my two "issues" with other perfumes:
1. I'm allergic and foam at the mouth at the merest whiff of any other fragrance, and
2. Like, DUH, Bee Executives! Airlines, limited liquids in carryons, SOLID perfume--helLO!
HTH! |

BTW, did anyone read the article about bees becoming endangered? It was in the New York Times or the Denver Post, I think...saw the paper sitting on someone's table at the coffee place and meant to read it.
We would all starve if it wasn't for bees! |

Wow! You're quick!!!
I think the solid perfume for airline travel marketing angle would make them a bundle! They could sell cute little containers of it in airport stores, maybe a kids' travel set with bee coloring books, a bee dvd, stuff to keep them busy like good little bees and not annoying their parents and other passengers
Who knows, maybe they'll bring it back and I'll start wearing it! I'll turn over a new leaf and stop smelling like a...
