After deciding to make a few DIY products of my own I'm also tempted to add in the Decleor ylang ylang balm and oil. I've also read good reviews on the mattifying fluid. There is a kit on sale at EDS comprimising the yy oil, matt finish fluid and purifying mask. Would this be a good place to start? Does anyone have any experience of these products? I used Decleor a few years ago and my skin erupted big time. However, I now realise it could have been the purging process (as I changed all my products to Decleor at the same time!) and didn't really take any professional advice. The reason I ask is that I tried the ess balm last night and despite my reservations I think my skin looks a bit brighter this morning and I'd like to try other Decleor products again. |

Hi Rachel
It does sound as if we have been looking at the same Decleor products.
I agonised for ages whether to go for the Essential Balm or the Ylang Ylang and finally purchased the later. I do think it is a good idea to get the kit and test the products first to see what you cannot live without and what you think you can substitute yourself with DIY.
I had a sample of Neroli which lasted me ages and I am so tempted to purchase for the scent alone even though I know that Jojoba Oil is just as good. I know I would not purchase the Ylang Ylang Oil, merely becase I am just getting used to the Ylang Ylang scent of the balm and have read the Oil smells stronger.....you really do need to like the scent of Ylang Ylang.
I too am drooling over the Purifying mask
Even though the samples appear tiny, they will last you a while ..... go for it girl!! |

Hi Rosebud, thanks for the reply. I seem to remember (from my last experience of Decleor) that I liked the scent of ylang ylang, I guess we're all different! Do you use neat jojoba oil on your skin? As a moisturiser? We sound as if we have similar skintypes, what is your routine? I thought about becoming a DIYer a while ago but then started using Pevonia. However, after (obsessivley!) reading all the posts at EDS I think I might try and combine DIY with Decleor. Hmm, that kit is sounding more and more tempting... |

Currently my routine is:
*Homemade version of Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream
*Witch Hazel for Toning
*Jojoba Oil to Moisturise (I like to add a few drops of Lavender & Tea Tree Essential Oil to this or Lemon Essntial Oil)
Night time:
Cleanser and Toner are same as above
*Decleor Ylang Ylang Balm to moisturise.
If the weather is particularly harsh in the winter I will switch to Dr Hauschka Normalising Day Oil for the Day time.
Masks
*Dr Hauschka Clay Mask
*Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream - I find this is more effective used as a face mask.
Tea Tree Oil to treat any acne outbreaks. |

I think it's a great place to start! I started with a kit as well but I got the YY oil + balm set which is still available which I think is a better deal and a better size for the balm too since you only use so little. |

I can't seem to find the set with the oil and the balm. However, I have noticed that the oily skin kit is on special offer! Surely that's a sign??? |

Sorry, I checked again and the YY set is not there anymore, I guess that was a big hit so they were all sold out because I noticed all the other oil + balm sets are still there (nourishing, essential, soothing, etc). In that case I think the kit with the oil, mask and moisturizer is great - definitely go for it! |
