hi sharons123!

I am wondering the same thing about face mapping!

my only real concern with it is that they are simply going to correspond all my different face areas to their products and I am either going to spend too much money on products, or not walk away with a lot of new information about my face.

but I suppose if you've never really considered what skin type you have and how to properly treat it, a skin mapping session would provide some good basic info!

that being said, I am planning on getting a dermalogica facial soon, so I may get a face mapping done just for good measure.

I had one done in the spring. It was ok, but pretty much everything she told me, I already had an idea about (ie. pigmentation in areas, dehydrated cheeks, oilier tzone, clogged pores). They then mark down on the same sheet the products they suggest for you for those problems. I went all crazy and bought nearly all she suggested (she wasn't pushy at all about the products ... she suggested a few to start, but me, I decided I must have everything pretty much at once!). Probably half the products she did suggest I am still using, but the others have fallen by the wayside.

The ones I do still really like: Sheer Moisture Tint SPF15, Multi-Vitamin Powerfirm for Eyes/Lips, Skin Prep Scrub, Daily Microfoliant, Multi-Vitamin Powerfirm Masque and Skin Refining Masque.

After what I said, I did infact go for a face mapping and I thought I would share my results with you. Basically, I have been trying so many different brands of skincare over the years, with very little success. Most of the time I would use something for a couple of weeks and if I saw spots, I would think it wasn't working, so then I would try something else. The last products I was using (for about 6 months) was Dermalogica, which helped a little, but I eventually found a bit too drying. The beautician looked at my face through this face mapping machine, and I was able to see her as well as myself in a mirror. She pointed out underlying sun damage and also clogged pores that she basically said was underlying congestion. She was really nice and did not try to sell anything to me that I didn't already know I wanted to buy. She knew that I was thinking of using MD Formulations and was able to suggest a regime for me. I have just started using MD formulations (kit used prior to peel) and am also booked in for a peel in two weeks time. In the end, I did feel that this consultation was worth it for me, as I feel I have been going round in circles for many years. Hopefully, in a few weeks time, I will start to see results. Just thought I would share this with you. Thanks.
