Hello!
Do you think it is okay to use at night both the SkinCeuticals Intense Line Defense Serum (12% AHA) and then layer on the Avene Ystheal Emulsion Lotion (with Retinaldehyde)? Or, should these 2 not be used at the same time? Thanks! |

They can be used at the same time but I think you would need to wait 30 min. after applying the AHA to apply the Avene.HTH |

I think I am going to try the Intense Line Defense. I use Avene Ystheal Gel. Would I apply the serum before the gel or vice versa? |

Well, I sure am behind the times, aren't I? I will read the thread. Thanks again Molly! |

Yikes! I would never do that (use both on the same night). My face hurts just thinking about it!. In general, it's recommended to use AHA products on alternate nights from retinoids. For people with hardy skin, maybe use the AHA in the morning and retinoid at night. |

I wouldn't say it's an absolute no no though Rileygirl. My feeling is that the Ystheal, once you've adjusted to it, is quite unlike other retinoids in it's gentleness and you could incorporate some gentle acid. I tried it myself before this thread cropped up on test patches because I wanted to use the mandelic more often and it was fine. I haven't tried it long-term because I've just started a new job and half the time I can't even wash my face before I fall asleep |

Ok, Molly. I will see how alternating nightly goes, first just to be on the safe side! |
