I'm an Alima W-2. Can someone recommend a True Cosmetics shade for me? I'm thinking Medium #2. |

I tried the True powder, but I felt that it emphasized the pores on my nose and was a bit too much "glow" for mature skin. I was also disapointed that the colors were not an exact match and didn't look as natural as I wanted. |

I am dying to try this product, but don't know which color I need. From all the other posts, what I got was that this is a more mattifying foundation than most other MMUs, especially BE's MMU which I am currently using. But you say you find that it makes you "glow" Do you look shiny?? What I don't like about BE is that it seems to make me shiny thus emphasizing my pores, and that is exactly what I don't want |

I was on my way towards purhasing a second TC MMU and noticed the reviews. Well, I was surprised to see mine at the top. The truth is that this product last longer than any other MMU I have previously tried and is so fab. Now that my skin is finally extrememly clear, it makes my skin glow to the point that MANY woman and men have complimented me on how great my skin is. The truth of the matter is that I do have a lot of light scarring, but with this make-up it seems to cover it in a very natural way. The compliments were that I must be taking something internally to make me look so healthy and glow!!! Partly true!!
What a GREAT product and it is very economical!!!!!!

Kirstin,
I just posted my reply to read your comments on pores being magnified. I also have larger pores from having chronic skin problems for several years....thanks to holistic self prescribed products I now have permenently clear skin. The make-up makes my skin look like it is really smooth and poreless...if you can really get that look with enlarge pores.
As for the color, you could send the TC a picture of yourself. |

What holistic thing are you taking for your skin, if you don't mind me asking... I am very interested. |

I have read that taking flax seed oil really benefits the skin, as well as being very good for your immune system , combatting heart disease, even helps with joints and with dandruff. I have only been taking it for a couple of weeks, but what I noticed above all else is that it has helped boost my metabolism... I am wondering if you make it part of your holistic approach to healthy skin??? |

HI,
I will tell you what has helped my skin, and I hope some of the tips will be helpful.
The only reason we get acne is due to hormonal problems (this is seen with acne only on the chin area), toxins in our intestines (when you get pimples on your forhead),and poor digesting (which are the cheeks). Liver congestion will be seen as acne between the eyebrows. There are also small, little pimples from external congestion of heavy products - which I am sure you all know about.
This may sound strange but I have seen this for years on my skin and many other people who I have consulted, and know as friends.
I started with a major intestinal cleanse. It is not laxitive but more fibrous to cleanse the toxic stuff out. I first did a parasite cleanse (good idea even if you don't have parasites or think you do)-if you have travelled to any tropical countries its a must. Then I did a regular bowel cleanse using products from Renew Life. They have a fiber product called - Organic Bowel Cleanse. You drink it at night and it lasts 30 days. That really seemed to help.
I also took an enzyme for my digestion that has some Hydracloric acid (HCL)in it to help break my food down. The next most important product is a probiotic (acidophilus and bifido bacteria)- VERY important. Wait untl the fiber cleanse is done before using probiotics.
I am a huge fan of fish oil, especiall Cod Liver oil. The best is the Nordic Naturals as they molecularly distill it to remove the toxins and if you get the liquid it has zero fishy taste- honestly!! I recently stopped using fish oil for over 4 months and notice dryness in my scalp, more oily skin and a few outbreaks. Within two weeks of using it again I no longer have dry scalp or any outbreaks, and even my hands are less dry!!
On a regular basis I take either Spirilina or Chlorella instead of synthetic vitamins. These products not only give you energy but are also cleansing to the liver, intestines and have a ton of nutrients.
I have been involved in the world of herbs and supplements over 10 years and have to say there are very few supplements that I personaly take. The best supplements are things close to food as our bodies can utilize them more efficiently than synthetic vitamins.
other than that I try to eat a very balanced diet meaning a little bit of everything!!
For my skin I make sure to do an exfoliating mask once a week and the addition of vitamin C serum may also be helping?
Before doing these things my skin was ALWAYS breaking out from products, foods, everything. It was a bit depressing to say the least. Now my skin rarely breaks out and if it does it is from my home extractoins that I do! I also stopped going to get facials or any treatments.
I know this is LONG. Let me know if you have any questions, and I will be happy to give any advice that may be helpfu. I know what it is like to have chronic acne.

Feliz,
Thanks so much for the information. Incredibly helpful, and I've certainly read a lot about everything you mentioned. It's great to know that your routine worked so well for you. I had a few questions about brands --- particularly about the probiotic (I've read that some are amazing and others are useless). Also do you have a specific brand of enzyme with HCL that you like? Finally, on the cod liver oil, do you buy directly from Nordic Naturals. I noticed that they have a few variations on the liquid. Which one do you like best? |

Feliz,
Thanks so much for all the great info! What exactly is a parasite cleanse, and where can you buy it? Do you take a probiotic everyday? And as far as the fish oils go can I stick with my flax seed oil instead, I am leary of the fish oils because I am breasfeeding and don't want to introduce the metals into my system.
Sorry for all the questions, but I want to get started right away! Due to the fact that I just gave birth a few months ago I find myself extremely hormonal and I would love to get my skin back to normal! |

I tried both True and Alima recently, prefer True. The coverage is fine but I find it emphasizes my pores on the cheeks. Will not repurchase. |

If you order a True product from Truly Natural's website you can actually request what samples of MMU you want and in what colors and they'll send them to you! I got ALL the sample colors I asked for in the pressed compacts! Fair #3 works best for me with Fair #2 working as a concealer for added cover on my dark circles.
I was ordering and have used for quite awhile now, True Radiant Revealing Complex. I got it after reading a review on it in Allure as a skin brightener and it REALLY works! I get THE most compliments when I've been using the stuff daily. I had stopped for awhile to treat a stress related breakout and when I started back up the compliments came rolling in all over again. It's truly great stuff and really does brighten your skin. |
