I am 5 weeks preggers. I'm just wondering what sort of supplements did you take when you were pregnant?

I have been taking pregnancy multi vitamins. I am so tired all the time and VERY emotional, I cry mostly because I am tired of being so tired and not be able to do much (I am working full time and currently finishing my master - last subject!). We were not planning on getting pregnant until the end of the year. So it is kinda a surprise...nevertheless we are happy about it.

All I want to do is be in bed, watch a movie and sleep all day long!

Any advice? Smile

I feel for you. I had the same feelings in the beginning of my pregnancy. Don't worry, a few more weeks and you'll feel much better. I don't recommend you to take any additional supplements since nobody did research on them, and nobody can tell you their influence on fetus. Wink

Congratulations!

Now, as for supplements... The best and only thing to do, IMO, is talk to your Dr! He/she will know what's best for you and your baby..

During this time, you should never take anything without checking with your Dr first... I can't stress that enough! Most likely you'll be told to take a pre-natal vitamin.. I'm sure blood tests will be done as well, just to make sure you and baby are getting enough of what you need...

Your tireds should lessen as time goes one.. {But don't expect to be back to normal energy for, ohhhhhhhh, 18 years...LOL}

Good luck and again, congratulations...

Definitely speak with your ob/gyn. Prenatal vitamins or a substitute , if your stomach can't handle the vitamins. Your hormones will be a roller coaster, there's nothing wrong with that unless you feel worse than better most of the time. Congratulations!
