Foundation has always been a ho-hum affair for me. Something that's necessary, like taking vitamins, but not anything to get excited about. I have a medium-dark complexion and it's been a long search to find something to match my skin tone. Bobbi Brown and MAC have been good choices. Recently, I was at a YSL counter trying out the famous "touche Eclat" pen, that did nothing for me, BTW, and the sales person tried some of the Perfect Touch on me. I fell in love... The color was wrong though. We went through a few rounds and I eventually found the color (#9). It's so simple to use, open cap, twist, squeeze a little on the back of your hand, twist to close, use the brush to sweep it on. It sinks in effortlessly and leaves my face so soft and radiant - like me but better! It has a light airy feel to it. These days I am using it without moisturizer underneath or powder on top. I use it on top of my Clarins UV+ (thanks Manslayerliz for the recommendation). Staying power is medium but I don't apply a lot and touch my face a lot ( bad, I know!). It's more expensive than the average foundation ($50 versus ca. $30) but it is worth it for me. No messy bottles, no sponge, no washing hands after applying foundation yada yada... So far, it's the best foundation I have found. The full name is: Yves Saint Laurent 'Perfect Touch' Radiant Brush Foundation and for me, it is perfect.

Thanks for the review...I have been wondering about this one. Is is possible to clean the brush without loosing the product or getting water into the container?

Hi Olivia,

I haven't yet washed the brush but it looks pretty water-proof to me. The twisting mechanism locks it into place. I intend using some baby shampoo at the end of the week.

I washed the brush today. Put a little bit of shampoo in the palm of my hand. Swirled the brush around under warm water until the water ran clear. Rinse off, shake and let air dry. It was fine.

is anybody using this break-out prone? it sounds lovely, but i've learned that foundations like this (i tried the chanel) usually drive my skin mad.
