I just bought the Rare Minerals today & the SA said that I shouldn't wear it during the day. She didn't have any explanation other than it was designed to be worn at night. I don't like to cover my face with foundation, & I like the idea that the RareMinerals could provide a little bit of coverage & be therapeutic as well. Does anyone wear their RareMinerals during the day? |

Okay, here is the deal on the rare . . .
The rare minerals does not contain an SPF and so it is not safe to wear in the AM. The formulation is menat to "activate" with your sleep cycle. Now, this menas it is doing an exfoliation job as you sleep. You don't want to exfoliate during the day. Try ID Bare Minerals day foundation as it is sold ina kit and you will ove it. It is soooo much smoother than the Rare Minerals night anis more illuminous too. |

Okay. Now I understand what the SA meant by it doesn't have spf. I just thought to myself, well I'll just wear my normal sunscreen underneath it. So, even if I did wear sunscreen underneath the RareMinerals, it still wouldn't be a good idea to wear it during the day? |

I don't know that it would even be effective during the day since you're so active, comparatively.
Your body's circadian rhythm is directed (& disrupted) by lightness and darkness, so this product is likely meant for overnight use because it's the optimal time to take advantage of its benefits.
At worst, you're just spending a ton of money on foundation. |

Thanks for clearing this up. I won't waste the product by wearing it during the day. I have another question though. You're suppose to put the RareMinerals on after your pm routine. I use jojoba/camellia oil as my final moisturizer. Do I need to wait until it's completely absorbed before I put the RareMinerals on? If feels like the oils will take forever to fully penetrate. Also, I'm wondering if, since oils, are suppose to penetrate to lower layers of the dermis, would it also carry the minerals to deeper layers of the skin as well? |

I use jojoba oil in the morning and always wait for it to absorb before putting mineral makeup on, so it doesn't get gross (clumpy). A couple drops go a long way and absorb pretty quickly.
I use emu oil at night after copper peptides because it "pushes" them deeper, I'm not sure about oil "drawing" products in though. |

Leidon I recently bought the Rare Minerals also. What I've found is, if you do your usual night time routine, eye cream, moisturiser etc and wait a while before applying the minerals it still clogs up the sponge applicator. So I tried just applying the minerals, nothing underneath but then my face feels dry in the morning. If you read the leaflet that comes with the minerals it sounds like it performs miracles and although my skin does seem to be a clearer in the mornings, which could just be the amount of makeup I've got on, I haven't seen any long term difference. |

My question is...if RareMinerals is only meant to be worn at night...why the heck does it come in different shades? Perhaps in the event of a really hot guy stopping by late at night?
I dunno...a bit strange to me that a night treatment comes in shades like foundation.
Another marketing ploy I guess... |

I've never bought it, I just got a sample from Sephora that I didn't use; maybe it's opaque and unnatural looking so they added color to it. It is pretty strange, but probably a good thing to have on hand in a hot boy emergency.... |
