| I like the texture of Lancome sensation totale serum. The main ingredient is vit C. Since it's pretty pricey, I was wondering if there is any other similar product that has same texture with cheaper price? I have tried Cellular Rx and Vivier. I think they are too concentrated so I tend to have break out. Any idea? |

| Do you know the type and percentage of Vitamin C that the Lancome product uses? It would be easier to recommend a C serum if we have this information. Also, what is texrure of the Lancome serum? Knowing this would help too. |

| Sensation Totale doesn't use l'ascorbic acid, it uses ascorbyl glucoside and is also near the middle of the ingredient list. FYI, and it mainly contains silicones thus the texture. But it's a great mattifyer and gives me good moisture which didn't clog my pores. I used 2 bottles of it prior to discovering EDS, since then I've been using Proheal. Sensation totale didn't do much for my skin though, I used it as a moisturizer/mattifyer. From what I know of Vit C I don't think this will really refine your skin texture (it'll make you THINK you have softer skin though) nor will it give you adequate antioxidant protection. It also has a large amount of preservatives and bad for your skin chemicals. If you're looking for a Vit C product you'll have to try a serum, any real concentrated serum will not have the same texture as Sensation Totale, but there are a lot of good ones and if you browse through some Vit C threads you'll probably end up finding one that's perfect for your skintype. |

I used one bottle of Sensation Totale and I did not think it really did anything for my skin. I got it because it was supposed to help minimise/reduce my pores. I don't remember it having Vit C in it.
The texture felt really smooth and was not sticky at all.
I am using two Vit Cs at the moment, Cellular RX and Super Serum and they are both sticky. The Cellular RX is a bit more watery.
Texture wise Sensation Totale feels better; otherwise as I said before I don't think it worked. |

Hm.. this reminds me of Lancome Hydrazen, it does feel good when I applied it, but it's merely the feeling; later on, I found out from the lady in Lancome counter, it doesn't really do any protection as much. So, should I switched to regular vit C serum like Vivier?
Anyway, can I use the Vivier 5% for eyes on my face as well? I bought two vit C serum for eye and face. I wasted like half bottle and more. I am thinking just buy one for both eye and face. |

fishzebby I think that I am experiencing a similar problem with C serums. The high percentage ones are just too much for my skin. I am getting alot of whiteheads and suspect that C serums are part of the problem.
I have been trying a sample of the SkinMedica C Complex and like it so far. It is not a cheaper option than the Lancome but it is in a silicone base so it does not cause any dryness. It is 10% ascorbic acid and 5% tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. I am hoping that it won't be too much for my skin.
Which Vivier one did you try? The 10% or 20%? I would think that you could use the Vivier 5% eye serum on your face. It would depend on what the other ingredients are though.
Although I haven't tried them the La Roche Posay C serums might be a good option. These serums are 5% ascorbic acid and they appear to be in a silicone base. Here's a link if you want to check out the LRP serums. http://www.dermstore.com/list_100090-300045.htm

| I know the ingredents are not the same but I used Lancome Sensation Totale a few years ago after I used Origins Make a Difference and the texture and results were the same. |
