Rufus and other DHCC users,
My DHCC arrived! I tried a sensitivity test on my wrist, but it seemed REALLY thick. How much water do you add to the 1/2" of paste? How do you keep it from all drying out during the 2-5 minutes of press & roll?

I don't think you're supposed to mix with water. But as with all other cleansers you wet your face first. It's also best used in the shower or after you steam your face for the best results. You only use 1/2 inch and no it will not dry out while you're pressing and rolling. Follow the instructions and all should be fine. There has been SOOOO many posts on DHCC, if you ever have questions do a search and you'll definitely find ALL the answers.

I don't nessarily add water. I just wet my hand and that's enough water to spread it in palms. I press it to my face until I feel the water is dry then wash it off. you can spray some water on your face to keep it from drying if you want to press a bit longer time.

thanks Hopemelody and Sormuimui! I've read through the threads and didn't plan to add water, but the instructions that came with the cleanser said to add a little warm water. Since my T zone is oily, I wanted to press/roll for 5 minute but find that everything is dry halfway through. Hopemelody's tip of spraying water on my fice to keep it moist sounds like a good idea. I'll try it.

Thanks again!

so you don't wet your face first? You apply it on dry skin and then rinse with water?

I wash my face first with AHA cleanser or wheatgerm cleanser (both from skincarecentral). Immediately after, I apply the DHCC--so my face is already wet/damp.

I cleanse my face first, then I start with a wet face and I add a few drops of warm water to the 1/2 inch in my palm. I just like the consistency better. I follow by rinsing thoroughly, then remove any remaining film with a wet washcloth (gently), and finish with a toner. I swear my skin looks better every time I use this product. I love it!

I really don't like the idea that a cleanser leaves a film and you need a toner or another cleanser to rinse it off.

Thank god I transcribed the instructions onto my wordpad cause they answer your questions for the most part.

Quote:
Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream

Application: Remove make-up and moisten face well with warm water. (Ideally the neck, upper part of chest and ear lobes are included.)

Squeeze 1/2 inch of Cleansing Cream onto hand, mix with warm water and spread between wet hands to create a creamy emulsion.

Begin to work the Cleansing Cream into the face with a rolling pressing movement of palms and fingers. Work from the centre to the outside to stimulate the lymphatic flow. Keep the emulsion wet. DO NOT RUB and SCRUB.

Avoid the eye area. DO NOT RUB OR SCRUB.

Rinse thoroughly with warm water, and follow with a splash of cool water (Use tepid water throughout for sensitive skin.)

The length of time that Cleansing Cream is worked into the skin varies with each skin condition:

Normal or dry: 1 to 2 minutes

Sensitive: 30 to 60 seconds

Oily or impure: 3 to 5 minutes.

Complete the cleansing process by applying Dr. Hauschka Facial Toner, Clarifying Toner, Rhythmic Night Conditioner or Rhythmic Conditioner, Sensitive.

When I have the adequate amount of the cleanser out of the tube I do drizzle some warm water on the palm of my hand and mix it with the cream to make it more of an emulsion. It's trial and error to find the water to cream ratio you prefer.

As I press and roll I do just hold my fingers under the running water and add more water while I go as the cream does dry out a bit. I do follow up with a foaming cleanser cause I feel it takes care of any residue. I'm also waiting for the Jurlique cleansing cream to see if there is any difference between the two.

Thanks, Rufus. I've used this 3 times now--yesterday afternoon, yesterday evening, and this morning. No breakouts but no major changes to my pores, either. Priscilla
