I had a very bad sunburn several years ago, since then, my arms are much darker than the rest of my body. I saw the Glyquin on EDS which claims to "bleach" the skin.
Has anyone used it? Or any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Carmenlu
I haven't used it, but personally I wouldn't use something Hydroquinone based. It can have a nasty 'kick-back' effect if you get sun exposure and the hyperpigmentation might come back even darker than before and it's banned in Europe and soon will be in the US. Other products have the same melanin inhibiting mechanism and don't have that side effect. You could use alpha-arbutin or kojic acid (there are some products here http://www.dianayvonne.com/c=ZhcxnyyxPqQf1aJJHdv7iyBbL/category/17/) or there's a new one which uses Belides (daisy extract) which is very cheap (http://www.skincarecentral.biz/skincare-pigment.html)
It all seems a bit pricey for your arms though - maybe you should look into DIY - a Vit C serum would help a lot too.

The Belides product sounds very interesting. I wonder if anyone has ever used this and how long it takes before pigmentation starts diminishing!

Maybe try Etta's (Ettas?) Bleaching Powder? I don't know diddly about this product and am just throwing it out there as a suggestion because I saw it mentioned on another board and said, "huh, thats sounds interesting'. lol

Okay, I just googled the stuff and it appears the only place it's available is on a foreign web site:

http://yumeimise.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=1031

You'll notice the absence of ingredients, so I don't know what's in it, but someone made mention that it's probably hydrogen peroxide, and then someone else followed with the suggestion of using a hydrogen peroxide toner -- like the one from Murad (3%) or the Reviva.

The hydrogen peroxide makes sense -- it is used to bleach other things like teeth and hair. Worth a try I guess. ----> (the HP toner, I mean, which should be easy to find)

Thanks Molly and leyel. The Belides product seems interesting, I'll look into it. I have a hydrogen peroxide solution, maybe I'll just give it a try tonight...

Embarassed Sorry Rileygirl.
I remember someone here's using it in place of HA and bought it from Kathleen. Actually, I thought it was mentioned as a plug for it Laughing so I assumed it was her friend Poco.

Isn't hydrogen peroxide really bad for your skin in that it causes free radical damage? I thought I saw it discussed in some acne threads. (or is my mind going on that too.....)

I bought it around sept. It's very sticky and thick feeling of cream. I don't like the texture. I didn't see any good result, maybe because I didn't use it daily as suggested. I really regreted buying it. Also, the silver colored cover of the cream bottle is peeling out, so it's really hard to apply because my cream actually bleached out the cover.
