Hi everyone,

I've been lurking these boards for quite some time. I want to thank all of you for the great advice and tips. I have to admit, I've never really been too concerned about my skin until about a year or so ago when I turned 50 and freaked out when I started to develop signs of aging. I really didn't know where to start and came across this board. I have tried so many products over the last year and have found a few which actually work for me. I know we all have different skin and what works for some, may not for others, but here goes.

Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream - Wow! I love this stuff. My pores were very clogged and huge! Now they are barely visible.

Emu Oil - Plumps up my skin. I use the clear and it absorbs very well.

Skinceuticals Phyto+_ - I have never used suncreen (yikes) and had developed 2 large brown spots on my cheeks. This along with arbutin mixed in my face cream has worked wonders.

Sunsilk conditioner - I have very long hair which I color every 6 weeks (get rid of that grey) and have tried so many products, my latest being Ojon (didn't like it), This stuff is the best yet and a good price.

Time Balm Concealer - I have dark undereye circles and this stuff really covers and is supposed to help fight wrinkles as well.

DMAE - At 50, I started to notice a sagging jawline. I am using 6% now, and find that it has really made a difference in firming my skin.

Dr. Denese Facial Ferming Pads - 10% glycolic acid. My face is so smooth in the morning. Love this product.

Ponds microdermabrasion cream. Very in expensive but my skin just glows after using it.

Well, thanks again for all the wonderful advise. You gals are a wealth of knowledge.

I use a DMAE serum. Most people start at a 3% solution, but I have worked my way up to 6%. If you do a search for DMAE, you will find places to order this serum. I think it's best to start off at 3% to see how your skin can tolerate it.

Hey Debster1000: Where did you get the arbutin for your face cream? Or was it already in it?

I'm wondering because I've also used Phyto+ and didn't notice much of a result from it. Maybe the arbutin was necessary to pump up the results?

Hi Nijey,

I got it from SkinActives. I can't remember how much it cost - I think around $9. I just mix it with a base cream. I find that using both kojic acid and arbutin has made the difference because I just used Phyto+ for 3 months with minimal results. For the lst time since being a teenage (long time ago), I don't use foundation. Just concealer and blush. I almost can't believe it!

Sorry, I just checked. It was $12.50US. Still, pretty good for something that actually works.

I also love cleansing cream. this cleansing cream really helped my skin very much. It does clean and does not dry out your face.
