Dior and La Pairie are introducing Gold serums which claims to give your skin a boost because there is gold in it. |

Skincare I noticed the La Prairie ones since I have been visiting their website alot lately! Guerlain also has some products with gold. I think that Guerlain calls it "blue gold". |

Hi Skincare,
I noticed a product line called "Liana" that sells almost exclusively on ebay and they have a whole line that contains gold. i was intrigured because their products looked beautiful but i am scared to try them because they are an obscure brand. there seems to be no reviews out there. |

Hm, I wonder why gold would give your skin a boost? Can it even be absorbed or do you have like, little sparkly bits on your skin that make it *appear* nicer? |

I agree with you. I was hoping that maybe someone would know more about it.
The packaging looks really nice. |

No gold just as expensive as gold. Got 2 deluxe samples and saw no difference though the night cream was pure luxury |

I bought my daughter (17, dry skin, acne, blackheads) Shuyis VIVIFYING GOLDEN CLEANSER:
"Vivifying Golden Cleanser is a cleanser enriched with natural protein, natural seaweed essence, rosemary, and many herbal essences. Using only natural sarcosinate, it is mild and soft to the skin. Applied with cutting edge nano technology to add in 24k golden atom; contains great effects on enhancing skin metabolism, blood circulation, and lymph function; as well as sterilization and eliminating secretion of sebum cutaneum for oily skin and acne prone skin."
She finished 1/2 bottle but did not see much improvement.
I know Chines and Japanese put 24K gold in some of their dishes too. Never tried it though. |

This isn't anything new. Valmont's L'elixir creams are supposed to have gold in it thus the huge price tag. An SA once told me what it's supposed to do but I don't really remember. Something about imparting radiance on your skin, mainly I think it's just due to the light reflecting properties of gold, I don't think the gold particles actually absorb into your skin. I think they put gold flecks in it to create the illusion of radiant glowing skin while the other ingredients moisturize or do whatever they're supposed to do imo. |
