Hello,
I am new to EDS. I have been reading and reading -- there is so much information. First off, I have melasma (hyperpigmentation). Sensitive skin and am looking for a good skincare regime and makeup. My skin is very dry, and damaged from all the years of harsh chemicals, scrubs, lotions etc.
I have been reading about all the harsh chemicals I've been putting on my face all these years--parabens, hydroqinn. etc. I think many of these chemicals have worsened my skin problems. So I am leaning more towards organic/natral makeup and skin care products.
My question: Does anyone know of a good online store where I can purchase natral makeups and skin care products? With good prices? There are so many out there.
Thank you!! |

Hi Pumpkin!
Just my two cents...
You're on the site (Essential Day Spa) that seems to consistently have the best deals that I've found online. Even sale prices on other sites sometimes don't compare to the EDS regular prices, they offer free promotions and their customer service is very good. EDS does carry some natural lines (Dr. Hauschka, Jurlique & Juice Beauty come to mind, but there may be others).
In case you haven't been to their store yet, you just have to click the EDS logo at the top left of your screen (or follow one of the links at the bottom to the specific product lines).
Hope that helps, and I'm sure others will have suggestions for you. |

Dr Hauschka is pretty popular around here, if you do a EDS search for "organic" lots of more lines will come up too

Hi Pumpkin, I am an advocate for organic skin care amd highly suggest it to all, so am glad to hear you are ready to make the switch. My favourite organic skin care lines are Dr Hauschka, and Primavera (have been using and loving these lines for years). You may also want to check out Weleda, Aubrey Organics (have also used products from these 2 lines myself), Lavera (great line for highly sensitive skin), and Jurlique. These lines are all at different price points so depending on your budget you may want to take a look at all of them and then decide.
As for organic/natural cosmetics my favs are Dr Hauschka, Jane Iredale and Lavera. |

Absolutely right. Essential Day Spa carries Jurlique and Dr. Hauschka. Those are gerat products lines.
I have purchased Phyt's organic cosmetics and the great Gaia Made for Men organic product lines fromwww.kathlina.com They have pretty reasonable prices and ship their orders out same day or next day. Great service. |

Wow! It's so exciting to find someone on here that have heard of the Phyt's line. I am so hooked on it due to its purity and effectiveness. |

I've used Weleda's Sea Buckthorn body oil--it's full of beta carotene so it almost serves as a bronzer. |

Weleda is nice and fairly inexpensive. |

Larenim is good. I just have their eyeshadow and I like it a lot. It's available at whole foods or online. |

Skincareaddicted, have you used Dr. Hauschka eyeshadow, i.e., can you draw a comparison between the Larenim and the Hauschka? I've been looking for a line to supplement my Hauschka shadows (I love them but the colors are rather limited), but I've never found another natural brand that was milled as finely. |

Hi Shanno,
I have never used Dr.H's eyeshadows sorry. But I can say that Larenim is extremely fine milled. Dr. H's eyeshadows are pressed eyeshadows while Larenim's are loose. Larenim's color selection is quite large, I don't know if you have been to whole foods and seen the displays, but there's even more colors available online:
http://www.larenim.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=6
I have seen the colors in real life, and they are much better than on the webpage. I am eager to try scale of the dragon .
They also have a goth collection with nice colors:

If you're looking for more selection with colors, I say definitely go Larenim. I am not sure if you've used Bare Escentuals, but Larenim's eyeshadows look similar. Performance is better than BE though, for sure. The lasting power without base is pretty much all day. I hope that helps, sorry I cannot compare to Dr. H's. |
