I finished my ance medication in may and had no acne for months but in the last 3 weeks. I have been getting little pimples on my chin (which was my problem area) that takes ages to go away.
I started breaking out after using different/ new skin care cleaser, products and psf skin repair 12%. But i had seen some good results from psf 12% so don't want to stop using it. What do you all think? Should i go back on the medication?

Are the little pimples you are getting actually acne pimples like you had before? Vitamin C does worsen acne in some people but any of the new products that you are using could be the culprit. What are the other new products that you added? Also, what is the acne medication that you were using? |

Hi theresaL
my derm had me on Isotane its like roaccutane. I was on it for 6 months finished in may. I was on isotane for my acne on my chin; the rest of my skin was clear and i had dry skin.
It cleaned up and i had maybe one pimiple every once and a while. but cleared quickly.
I started using new products for last 1 maybe 2 months - psf emergen-c repair serum 12% l-ascorbic acid (vitamin c) on my skin to reduce scarring.
And i used thalgo dry and sensitive skin cleaser and toner.
In the last 3 weeeks i am getting pimples on chin which are smaller then before but still form a whitehead and take ages to clear. Plus leaving scars/red marks.
Help please!!!! Any advice thanks.

I am glad that I asked you what you were using. I had trial sizes of both the Thalgo products that you mention and ended up throwing them out after two uses. One, they irritated my skin. Two, the cleanser left a film. Try to pay close attention to your skin after cleansing and see if you notice a film. If you do that may be causing your pimples.
I am not familiar with roaccutane. Is that like accutane where it should cure your acne after a course of treatment or two? If so you may want to mention your pimples to your derm and see what he thinks. |

I agree...ask your doctor and is it because of your hormones? What type of fatty foods do you eat? Do you eat a lot of processed foods?
That could be part of the problem. |

Cool, thanks theresaL and skincare for your advice i think it might be the thalgo skincare.
My pimples have finally healed and i havent had any break outs (touch wood). Pity it left red marks where the were on my chin.
I left a message with my doctor but haven't heard anything. Might have to pop in and see him. Will update you with what he thinks.
Roaccutane is the same as accutane. Its labeled different in different countries. I looked it up to make sure. Thanks again.
Skincare, i do eat a bit of processed food but will try to add more veges and fruits. Im more a three vege and meat girl (farming lifestyle).
I need to drink more water too.
Any ideas on how to drink more water. |
