I have been looking out for a tinted moisturizer with Mexoryl (I thought this was coming out soon). I Asked in CVS and the Lord & Taylor's department store but nobody seemed to know.
So many people here are in touch with new products, is it coming? Is it already out? |

Have not seen that - maybe at MakeupAlley they will have heard of such a thing? That would be great if such a product existed! |

Is that a firming ingredient? |

No. It is that UVA protector that is used in sunscreens such as LRP etc... |

Sharky - I'd be quite wary about using a SS whose main ingredient was mexoryl. Theresa recently unearthed a chart from LRP showing it's protection is predominantly in the 320-340nm range. The protection up to the 400nm range is from older chemicals like Avobenzone. So, if it uses Mexoryl you need to look closely at what else it's using too.
Take a look here to read more and see the chart

Avene (Tinosorb rather than Mexoryl) makes a tinted SS -- SPF50+ Creme Tinted (there's an untinted version). A friend brought some back from Paris in the summer, but it was too rich and oily to use then. But I used it during winter when my skin gets a lot dryer. Even though it wasn't the formula I'd wanted her to get for me, I liked it for use during the cold, dry, windy weather and when indoor heat makes my skin parched.
The tint turned out to be a pleasant surprise -- better than what I recall Clinique City Block (or whatever) was like when I used it years ago -- it looked too much like liquid foundation which I don't like. In fact, I'd buy the tinted Avene again -- the color helps to tone down the general whiteness of these types of SS.
But if you want a light, matte SS, this is definitely not for you. |

Thanks m.april. I do get very dry in the winter. I thought that someone mentioned that there was going to be a mixed sunscreen for both UVAA and B. Has anyone used Laura Mecier's SPf 20 tinted moisturizer? |

Yes, I use the LM Oil Free TM.
I have oily skin, so I've never bothered trying the regular TM. I use it for everyday (I work in an office and my time outdoors is, unfortunately, limited). It's just a little bit too moisturizing for me, but, so far, I haven't found anything that I like better.
I don't want much coverage, and the LM is just right for me. I would put it somewhere between sheer foundation and moisturizer.
BUT, if I'm planning on being in the sun a lot, I usually wear a stronger sunscreen and use MMU over it. I've never burned with the LM, but I don't think it's a broad spectrum s/s and don't want to chance getting additional pigmentation!
I've got light-medium skin with yellow undertones and use the color Nude.
