Eeeeck. My first thought was that the lashes won't look or curl like eyelashes. After looking at the video ... euwww. I don't think they looked good at all.
sigh ... and I couldn't get this even if I had the money - I'm fighting thinning hair too! |

I had JUST been telling my sister like 2 weeks ago that I wished they'd come out with eyelash implants. And then suddenly I started hearing about it! Apparently they grow like your hair, since they take the follicles from your head and your eyelash implants have to be trimmed! At $3,000 an eye, I'll be passing for now. |

they look scary. the hair on my scalp has a very different texture from the my eyelashes, so i would be very scared to do the procedure. plus, doesn't scalp hairs grow at a faster rate? would the ladies who got these implants be constantly trimming the transplant eyelashes? in addition, yeah, i hear they grow in weird directions. |

The transplanted lashes grow like your hair, very rapidly. They have to be trimmed weekly, if not daily. They also definitely must be curled because they grow out straight & limp. The texture of the transplanted lashes are also very different from your real lashes. They just kind of hang there. They can also get split ends. I thought that it would be less work in the a.m. to get the transplant, ie. no mascara, less eye makeup, etc., but the fact that you have to continually trim them makes it actually more bothersome. Plus, you have to have the proper trimming technique b/c you can't just trim them straight across. Thank God for JM. |

I know many of the reviewers find this procedure absolutely yucky, but for someone who has absolutely no lashes, I think this might be a great thing...granted the price tag is really steep. I have asian lashes that are pretty much non-existant and I will not leave the house without mascara. On weekends, I will also wear fakes just so my lashes look normal. Needless to say, all the gunk I put in my lashes causes them to fall out faster, which forces me to have to put more gunk on them. I am in a vicious cycle with my lashes.
If it weren't for the price tag, I would definitely think about the implants. But like all treatments, I'll have to wait until it becomes more common and less expensive. |

JM stands for Jan Marini eyelash growth serum. It makes eyelashes grow! It works too, just do a quick search using the feature at the top. HTH |

LL - I have super thin, sparse, Asian eyelashes too. Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash is (right now) the most proven of growth products but Ardell Lash Accelerator is pretty popular and very inexpensive ($3).
You can also put your name on a waiting list for Carekate's Lash Serum. She's still testing - but it looks like it will be a winner. |

1. Jan Marini. Go towww.janmarini.com and call the company. Ask for phone numbers of SMALL spas and out of the way clinics. That's your best bet for finding product. Or find a clinic in a different country (ex. England).
2. Ardell Lash Accelerator. I think CVS carries this? My Longs and Walgreens didn't have it so I ordered from drugstore.com.
3. Carekate's lash serum. Do a search for the thread and add your name to the waiting list. I have no idea if Carekate is really making a waiting list - but hey, you'll see latest activity.
4. Talika Lipocils. At Sephora. It didn't help me but some people had success.
5. Cold-pressed castor oil, virgin coconut oil, Vaseline. Many people have said these work. At the very least it's probably really good to condition your lashes.
6. Carekate's DIY lash gloss. You can send her PM and order this or make it yourself. I did. It's not a growth gloss BUT it does add a lot of good things for your lashes.

If you had the lash transplant, wouldn't they look unnatural? |
