... added to my growing list of "must-haves" but I'm a little bit unclear on what this does. |

I'm curious about this one too. I see it mentioned in threads a lot, and it seems like it's used for a lot of different things... |

I have been using this for a month now and really feel that it is effective in healing my breakouts (due to its antibacterial abilities) and also calming my complexion. It has also helped to regulate my dehydration so I haven't gotten as flakey. The oxygen is also supposed to help other beneficial ingredients absorb into the skin when used in conjunction with your other skin care treatments. I haven't used it long enough to tell but apparently it is also supposed to help diminish fine lines.
It's a bit spendy so next I am going to try the Zenbiotic Oxygenating spray (or something like that... I can't remember the exact name right now). It's been mentioned on this forum and has been found to be as good as PSF's. (Some still keep the PSF on hand for special occasions and use the Zenbio daily). |

Thanks Amnis. I think I'm going to wait a while. I've been adding a lot of new things to my regime and I probably should wait so I'll know what's doing what.
Looks like I should read up on Zenbio too. I saw the posts but didn't know what it was. |

Yeah, it's wise to wait to try it so as not to confuse what is working and what may not be.
If you want to know more about Zenbiotic skin care go to their website:www.zenbiotic.com . It's a different approach to skin care... makes you want to try it. That and all the good reviews it gets on this forum . I will be trying it ASAP. |

The O2 is supposed to help things absorb, such as actives and moisturizer. While I don't know how much of that is true, but I can attest for its amazing healing properties! I recently had one cyctic pimple that was horrific and I spray O2 on it, which stopped it from getting worse. After I popped the nasty thing to release it from its miseary followed by O2, it healed within a day! Now I have a faint mark. This pimple was also immediately followed by another one 1.5 cm away ( I know, I am precise ) and that went away super fast with the O2 too! Usually these things stick around for week(s) and I am loving my O2 right now for dealing with it within 2 days |

Dr. P.B. Penguin, that tendency toward precision will do you well when you become a doctor!
BTW, I'm seeing the billboards all over town for "Happy Feet" the movie about the cute little baby penguin who can dance up a storm! SOOOOOOO cute! My friends are already groaning because I HAVE to see it! I'm such a sap for those kind of films, LOVED "Babe," "Finding Nemo," and the rest! |

At the risk of going extremely off-topic (how can I resist when MermaidGirl mentioned "penguin"????), Happy Feet looks sooooooooo cute! I cannot wait! I will post a review on the Saturday following the release muhahahahha What can beat a tap-dancing babypenguin?
But to get back on topic and tantalize y'all with PSF O2

I've been curious about this product. Can the 02 be used with the HA serum? Which one would go on first? Thanks. |

Hi Jess and welcome to EDS! It seems most EDSers love this product. IMHO, it was unbelievably $$$$ and did nothing for me. If you're interested in trying similar products, Zenbiotics makes an O2 serum that a lot of people really like and Dr Mist is getting great reviews. Just do a search for Zenbiotics and Dr. Mist and you'll get lots of info. HTH. |

This is one product I had always wanted to try, but after reading so many reviews of unsatisfied users, I changed my mind. I know different products work for different people, but I just wasn't prepared to waste so much money on it. However, a similar product at a fraction of the price of PSF O2 Serum from Zenbiotic seems to get just as good reviews, so I'm gonna give it a try instead. |

I only use it after I do a heavy duty peel and my skin needs calming. Some on EDS LOVE it to death. I'm on the fence. |

I've been using this for ages, not every day just when I've over peeled or over rolled. I find it very healing. It is also a life saver when it comes to pimples. I also had the experience of participating in a wedding last summer and the day I was to catch a plane a zit appeared in the middle of my forehead. I though UGH!! a 50 yo with a zit in a fluffy dress GROSS. I sprayed the pimple with O2 several times that day and after 24 hours it was almost gone (redness completely gone).
After that I always have a bottle on hand. Reading other stories here on EDS it seems that this is the best propertiy of the O2 serum. |

This is another one of those LOVE IT or HATE IT products. Some people swear by it while others think it is snake oil.
For me - It did nothing - I had the snake oil vibe going. |

Like sharky I don't need to use this product often. Occasionally I get a pimple on my chin. The urge to squeeze is a bad habit of mine. The O2 has helped accelerate healing and take down redness. Nice product to have on hand. |

Okay, I honestly do not have some sort of scientific explanation of why this works for me but I know that is does plenty. And..filling a squirt bottle with mineral water did not result in the same thing either...trust me, I tried it.
It helps tone down the redness on my face and prevents my face from becoming too red especially when I know I'm getting an allergy from something I ate, or trying new products that isn't right for my face or I'm getting a pimple. I know it's $$$ for what seems like H2O but I wouldn't trade it for anything else! I alternate this with PSF's R&R toner and I try hard not to use it up so fast but I find it really does calm my skin down a lot! |

I'm kicking myself because I had a nice, rather long, but concise, post done and then accidentally went in to change one word in the wrong place and lost everything. I'm not going to try to recreate it because it I feel too disgusted and the thought is exhausting so here goes nothing.
I have been looking all over the board at the reviews for PSF' O2 serum and read both good and bad. I even had a couple of small samples of my own which I tried. My skin seemed to like it, but what can you really tell when if you use it as directed, you only get 3 or 4 uses at the most from a product. I ended up here where Zenbiotics was mentioned as a cheaper alternative so I went over there to take a look. First let me say that it appears to be a very interesting line with some good ingredients in general and I am definitely going back to check it out more thoroughly, but I was interested in O2 in particular this time. So I pulled up the ingredients of both.
And here let me stress that I am not a chemist, a scientist, or even someone that is terribly knowledgeable on a great many of the skincare breakthroughs and products others are commonly aware of. And I am also not even going to get into the idea of whether oxygen can be transferred to the skin since I have seen technical discussion on that that frankly is even more confusing to me.
So in my layman's way this is what I was able to, rightly or wrongly, to deduce. Zenbiotics O2 serum was made up for the most part of natural ingredients that I have heard good things about, but that I really can't research as far as how they bring oxygen to the skin. PSF's was another matter. The second ingredient right after sterilized distilled water is osygen loaded Perfluorodecalin, which is a very interesting ingredient.
I'm going to include a couple of quotes from Wikipedia below, not the bible or always correct, but at least somewhere where most of us without a strictly technical background can get some information. Then I'll post the link. I still don't know exactly what I think of PSF's O2 serum. It is very pricey and there are products that I am fairly confident that I currently need more than I do need it right now, but I also am seriously considering adding it to the order I am about to make to give it a try now. I suppose because before I more than half way believed it was a load of hooey and I'm not so sure now. But to the quotes and links see below.

[edit] Medical applications
Of all the perfluorocarbons, perfluorodecalin has probably seen the most interest in medical applications. Most applications utilize its ability to dissolve large amounts of oxygen (100 ml of perfluorodecalin at 25°C will dissolve 49 ml of oxygen at STP [1]).
Perfluorodecalin was an ingredient in Fluosol, an artificial blood product developed by Green Cross Corporation in the 1980s. It is also being studied for use in liquid breathing. Perfluorodecalin can be applied topically, to provide extra oxygen to a specific location, to accelerate wound healing. Organs and tissues can be stored for longer in oxygenated perfluorodecalin; the "two-layer method" uses perfluorodecalin and UW solution to preserve tissue for pancreas transplants, for instance [2].

[edit] Other applications
As a development of the medical applications, perfluorodecalin is an ingredient in several cosmetic products, where its ability to dissolve oxygen is thought to revitalize skin, reducing wrinkles. The same effect has been used to grow cell cultures.[2]

Still no real conclusions on it for any of us really I suppose, but I really wish by the by that I knew where the post was where I read the other day on here where someone was talking about a mod on another board that scolded them. Apparently she had commented that her blemishes had gone away faster after using this and the mod quickly nailed her because she had no proof of this and the blemishes could have just as quickly gone away by themselves. I think anything that can possibly be considered to help heal wounds quicker might help on a few blemishes myself. Like any of us have scientific proof for the most part. Our skin seems clearer, softer, tighter, the pores clearer to us when we look in the mirror and maybe someone will comment on our skin and that is about what proof we all have. But anyway, I thought I'd throw my bit of info that I'd come across on here in case it helped someone like me come a little closer to making a decision on what the heck the product might actually do. Though I can't say that it is still entirely clear as to the benefits as in the case of Vit C or Retinol. It's part of what makes it so hard to decide if it is a possible good investment or snake oil. And just when a few days ago I'd decided that I wasn't going to try it out or at least right now, I fear that it is probably going to be right there in my cart on my next order. |

If you're interested in an O2 product, Zenbiotic sells a similar one for a lot less moola! |
