I have oily/prone-to-breakout skin but in the winter months I need additional moisture because it's so dry down here (desert).
I've come down to two options:
Sea Chi cream (have a sample)
Dr. H's Quince Day Cream
I've only been using the Sea Chi a few days. I really like the way it absorbs and doesn't make me oilier. But I'm intrigued by the reviews of the Quince Cream and how it leaves a semi-matte finish.
Sanandra (from Sea Chi) was kind enough to give me a 15% discount on my next purchase but it expires on Nov. 15, so I've got to decide pretty soon.
Ideas? I'm not sure if anyone has tried both, but if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, I'm all ears.
Sea Chi is technically cheaper per ounce (30 bucks for 2 ounces, and the larger sizes get progressively cheaper per ounce) with Dr. H being $21 US for 1 oz. But if Dr. H will help keep me matte, I'm all for it.
My morning routine:
Wash with Haba powder wash
Haba Vitamin C toner
Decleor YY oil
Decleor Mattifying fluid (which if I find a moisturizer that helps keep me matte, I'll just use this up and not repurchase)
**Sea Chi here for the past few days
Sofina Nuance Up
Everday Minerals foundation in matte
Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate it!

I think the best way to choose b/w these 2 creams is stop by in any Whole Foods store in your area and ask for sample of quince cream because not so many people here tried Sea Chi cream. |

Although I haven't tried either but I have a 3rd suggestion which is Jurlique's Calendula Cream which I think EDS offers it cheaper than Dr.H's Quince day cream and it might be good for your skintype. It also has rave reviews on MUA so you can get more of an idea of it there. |

I have used an entire tube of quince day cream.. man it took FOREVER!
For my oily skin type, I don't think it helps to balance the skin enough.. even though it goes on matte, it can leave me looking really shiny after a while. So I use it in colder weather on top of an oil moisturiser. |

Ahh! sormuimui...you add yet another possibility to the mix. From reviews on MUA, I'm thinking this might be better for moi than Dr. H's.
Hmm...decisions decisions! |

So I just ordered the Jurlique Caledula cream. If that doesn't work well, I'll go try Sea Chi.
I was an idiot though and forgot to add my forum gift yet again...I always forget that! |

Hi Paris,
I do not use this one, but I have tried it and it is very light.
The normal to oily moisturizer by Ice Elements. It also has a light SPF 15 (not broad spectrum) in it.
You could also use the moisturizer that you normally use and add a couple of drops of squalane in the palm of your hand before application to infuse it with added moisture for the months that you need a bit extra.
Take care.

Oh PLEASE write a review once you've tried it (I can't believe EDS offers it at such a LOW price comparatively)! I have it in my cart for AGES and still have not checked out (I've been buying too many other things, can't be spending anymore money!!!) |
