Thank you all again
I kept thinking last night about what a silly fool i was to think something bad was happening and wasting everyones time. Im so sorry. Feel really silly
I think because my dr thinks i could be going through the early menopause ive worried myself silly after reading alsorts of things on the internet and reading that it can age you a bit faster. Then when my left eye started doing that it was panic stations.
Today its not quite looking as good as it was yesterday as in the pictures but its not gone back to what it was the previous weeks. Good thing about this is that it is making me drink water. Yesterday I only had one cup of tea and one cup of coffee the rest was hot water
Im still keeping on with the facial exercises. At the moment I am doing the Carol Maggio one. I received the book yesterday. I did notice that after doing one of them it mademy frown line really crease. Thats gone now this morning.
Winne - do you think i would benefit from the facial flex too
Tosca I was wondering yesterday if I could start using the Baby Q again. Just a bit worried it could make it worse though |

I am glad you are feeling better. Personally, I would just stick with a few things at a time. Carol Maggio has exercise for the whole face. You also have the Q. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed if using too much. How do we know what is really working for us???? To answer you question...No, I would hold off for now with the Facial Flex.

Thank you Winnie. Ill keep on with facial exercises and incorporate my Baby Q slowly (though I have only used it 4 times and that was every 4days)
I hope all is well with you too

Good luck, Sally! Keep us updated. Don't worry about worrying us. We all have to be here for each other, even when it looks like it could be a false alarm. We'll all be very happy if your test results come back negative for everything bad. We really want it to be a false alarm! |

Hi Sally
Sorry to come into this discussion so late, I've been too busy this past week and am only now catching up with what's been going on here. I'm glad to see you're feeling so much better now.
One thought I had, although it is probably a bit simplistic - do you sleep on that side at all? Only I find it impossible to sleep on my back and always have my face squooshed into the pillows, and I have definitely got more puffiness and sagginess round my eye on that side! Anyway, I think you look great, your eyes are huge and such a pretty blue! Take care of yourself and try not to worry. |

Thanks Tosca. Everytime I think about what a whalley ive been to get all panicked I cringe with embarrassment.
Fifi, I try my best to sleep on my back. Most of the time i do but sometimes I do sleep on my right or left side |

Hi salster68
How are you doing? I hope you are feeling better today. Your eyes look ok to me. When I started reading this thread I immediately thought that you maybe should try some antioxidants. I ready a lot about L-glutathione (Also called reduced glutathione) a great antioxidant that detoxifies that body and it works great if combined with Vitamin-C. I didn’t try it yes, but I will start using it soon. Supplements like Hyaluronic acid and msm could be good for the skin. |

Hi I am new here and have been reading different threads and learning so much. This thread caught my attention because I had the very same thing happen to me very recently and I also had just started using DMAE 4%. I did some research and learned you should only use this very sparingly or it may make your skin worse. I have not used it for three days and I think the droopy skin has improved. I just hope it hasn't undone all the good my copper peptide/emu oil regimine has provided. I thought this might be something to consider if your are still using the DMAE.
Thank you to all of you for providing such great ideas and advice, I will certainly continue to read the various threads to gain even more knowledge. |

If you have any links to the research you did on DMAE I would greatly appreciate it. I have been using DMAE for over two years. Recently I have been using and loving DMAE at 6%. I am impressed how the 6% has enhanced the firming qualities I have already achieved over the past couple of years.
The DMAE I have used has been in Janson Beckett products (both AlphaDerma and their salon products). I found that JB products have had a dramatic effect (positive) on my mature skin.
For over a month I have been using Candessence DMAE 6%. I am floored by the great results I have had with this product.
From my personal experience I see no way that DMAE at an excepted concentration can do any harm to your skin. Certainly you need to purchase your skin care from a source that knows what they are doing and can be sure of the ingredients in their product. |

Hi Winnie:
Sorry I didn't mean to suggest that DMAE is harmful, however my own experience was so similar to Salster68's that I thoughr there might be a connection to the DMAE. I'm sorry that I haven't kept records of my research, I basically just googled it and read through the list. There were suggestions that a "thin" layer be applied to the skin and I think I was being too generous.
There is also a difference in the type of DMAE you use, the amine or the barbitrate.
The amine is more easily absorbed than the barbitrate and therefore a 3%amine would be stronger than a 3% barbitrate. But because it is more easily and completely absorbed it can cause more irritation and other problems. However I found different conclusions as to which one is best. The type sold by Skin Central is amine and the type sold by Candessence is the barbitrate. I know their are many others on this forum that know more than I so about DMAE so they may be able to add to this.
For those who like to DIY the Smart Skin Care Forum suggests that it is quite inexpensive and easy to mix your own product.
Hope this helps

Hello,
externally, I have found decleor's vitaroma anti-wrinkly eye and lip cream very effective for my eye-lids. Decleor's replaced the product with a new product 'Expérience de L'Age Triple Action Eye and Lip Creme'.
They also have a serum for the eyelid - 'Decleor Serum Hydrotenseur - Eye Contour Firming Serum' - which I bought for my mother.
I think both these products have shown positive results on the droopy eyelids. |

Wow! I'm a new member here and have read this thread from the beginning and I have been so touched by the love and concern everyone showed for Salster88 (not sure if that is her exact username.) Anyway such tenderness from everyone made me feel so glad to have found this board. And Salster88 (?) you are very cute and sweet. Yes, we are definitely our own worst critic. With all the encouragement you have been getting on this board, you are going to definitely get better. Why you guys are better (and cheaper) than going to a psychiatrist!! I know where I'm going to go if I start getting the blues or whatever!!! |

Hi everyone
Im back but with some good news. I got my blood test results last week from the doctor and there isnt anything going on that is causing my left eye to droop.
My left eye is still drooping - somedays it looks quite droopy again and then i have a few days where it isnt quite so bad at all. I am still trying to drink plenty of water. I am still using the DMAE serum in the day and JB DMAE night cream. Ive also started to use my baby quaser but have only used it twice with four days between each treatment.
For some reason my under eye area is looking a little worse to me so I dont really know what else to try. The crepiness and wrinkles seem to be more noticable at the moment.
I had to have another blood test to see if I may be going through the menopause but I will not get these results until just before christmas.
Thank you all again for all your kindness and support

Salster68 you looked great in the photo you posted on the Lounge! Keep up the positive attitude (after all it is the holidays ) and I hope the next blood test will come back with equally healthy results.
Best of luck! |

Hi everyone
Firstly (cos I can not remember if i have done this) but a very happy new year to everyone.
Sorry i have not been back wth my last results re the menopause but things have not been too good my end.
I got some good news though - Im not going throught the menopause. However, this has been taken away with a bit more bad news. Ive had a couple of other blood tests for various things and then two weeks ago had a chest xray. Unfortunately, it has come back with something being on my left lung so my dr is sending me to hospital for further investigations. I see the consultant this Thursday and then they will tell me what they will do. Its all a bit of a nightmare and for those who have gathered im one of the worlds worst worriers you can imagine just what im thinking ti could be.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and you are all well and happy.
Thank you all for your kindness since ive joined EDS. No doubt I will be back shortly with more anti wrinkle / aging questions cos the past couple of months i seem to look old with all the stress. Just thought id better pre warn you all in case i bombard you all with my daft questions

Salster68;
I know your chest XRay results sound scary ( I would worry too), but try not to think about it until you see the specialist next week.
The thing they saw on your left lung could be anything - a scar from a bronchitis or something similar from years ago, or something else just as simple as that.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Let us know what happens on Thursday.
Good luck, Rubby |

Ah thank you all. all i ssem to do is keep crying at the moment. Unfortunatley, because i tend to have bad rather than good luck my outlook tends to be negative. Ive had silly silly thoughts of who will have my cats and that they need to go together but to someone who can afford monthly medication for the old one. Its crazy thinking I know but however hard I try not to worry my thoughts slip back into it being bad. Im absolutely petrified if they find the worst. all i can do is see what they say to me thursday and what tests they will be performing and then sit tight and wait. Thanks again for all your thoughts

salster68,
I know what you mean. I am one of the worst worriers as well. I will take one situation and put what ifs infront of it, then I will worry about that as well.It hasn't helped me nor will it help you. We are all rooting for you. Please ( I know it's hard) but try not to focus on it. Let us know how it goes. |
