Hi what is a good perfume for a 22 year old. I want to buy my sis a nice perfume for xmas that will boost her confidence, help make her feel sexy. Can be use during summer time! or all year round.
What are your top 2 picks.

I will make one suggestion. Nanadebary Pink EDT. I like this one myself and it does have a sexy aura about it. Just look at the bottle! I have a 13 year old niece and she also loves this perfume. I am thinking of getting it for her for Christmas or her Birthday. Even though she is a teen there is nothing childish about this perfume.
Here is where I buy mine: http://www.beautyhabit.com/nanadebary.html |

I love Aquolina Pink Sugar, always get compliments on the scent. I heard Candy has this scent. I'm waiting to be able to purchase this from her. |

Can I give more than 2 suggestions?
First of all, I LOVE L'Occitane's Honey Water. It's a gorgeous honey perfume with a hint of blossoms, and I totally think it would be appropriate for year 'round wear. Very warm, very sexy--- DH loves it. There are also two perfumes by Demeter that I think smell really gorgeous, young and sexy: Damask Rose (not a typical rose--- very fresh and almost sweet), and Honeysuckle (smells like real honeysuckle--- the kind that grows wild out in the countryside!). All three of these perfumes are very affordable too, which means they're great for gifting... |

perfume is such a personal thing, it is not something that I would ever buy someone as a present (and I would cringe if someone bought it for me, unless it was a fragrance I already used).
But What I would suggest is go down to a specialty perfumery, buy a gift certificate and ask them to give you 3 or 4 sample vials of either what is listed here or ask their recs. that way, sis has something to play with at Xmas and she will be able to pick up the fragrance she likes best after xmas (and probably on sale too!) |

One of the loveliest, softly-sweet but not too sweet fragrances that I still wear (have been for 10 years) is Garden Botanika's "Heart". I've gotten more compliments wearing that than any other.
I think this would be great for her.
I think Falling In Love by Philosophy is also a good choice.
My niece who is 23 is enjoying Bath and Body's new fragrance Sensual Amber.

I agree with tiger_tim. A bunch of samples is a great idea. Sephora is offering a $45 gift certificate along with a box of 10 samples of their bestselling fragrances. She will sample all, and pick her favourite one, then go to Sephora with the gift cert. and pick up her fav sample in a full size bottle. It is a brilliant idea for people like you shopping for perfume gifts.

WOW, I should apply for a job at Sephora in management, we have the same style of thinking. |

Theresa, I never saw the perfume that you recommended in the store. Can you describe the scent, please? |
jumpingball the scent is hard to pin down exactly but I will at least try to describe it. Unfortunatly I don't have any of this perfume right now to give a more accurate description so the following is from memory. The predominant note is probably the vanilla and maybe the amber. It smells like a vanilla perfume but much more complex. Alot of perfumes with vanilla smell very obviously like vanilla but this one does not. It is also missing the sugar aspect that is so common these days in perfumes in general and especially in vanilla perfumes. The spices are a nice balance to the main notes and give the perfume it's complexity. It is amazing how in this perfume the notes are so well balanced to create a scent where no one note obviously stands out.
BTW Beautyhabit has a sample program where you pay $11 for 6 samples. They also ask you to pick 3 or 4 alternates in case they don't have you first choices. You aren't actually guaranteed the samples you request because it depends on availability but I have found that they do their best to get you the samples you want. |
