Got my sample of the acne serum (along w/ the toner, lotion, & mask). I really put the serum to the test as I had some MAJOR nasties that had just popped up - I mean they were so bad and "inflamed" I was crying last night & didn't want to leave the house.
Anyway, this morning they have gone down noticeably. They don't hurt like they did last night. It seems like this product is a little more drying (but not overly so) compared to the JB serum I was so hoping to love. A little drying is a good thing for those huge, red, evil devils I had. But at the same time it seems to have really calmed my skin, which was also irritated from a recent lip/chin/eyebrow wax. I wonder if it's the comfrey.
Time will tell. But from only one use I am satisfied, so that's something. I will update after I've used it a little longer. |

I got my little package of samples about a week ago and gave them all a try. (except I haven't tried the mask yet).
My preliminary findings for the acne serum is that it is great so far! I think it really does help speed up the healing process. The few zits that I have tried them on seemed to calm down a lot faster than usual. And after the infection seems to be gone, it really helps the wound to heal. Very pleased.
I also really like the shampoo! I unforunately didn't order a sample of the conditioner b/c I reached my max sample amount (5) before I could include it(there's just so many products I want to try!)so I can't speak for it. But when I used my usual Biolage conditioning balm it worked well. The scent is so refreshing... sort of like Wrigley's Spearmint gum. (But it doesn't contain any mint). Anyone tried the BBS conditioner?
I want to post reveiws on everything soon. (I have TOO many reveiws pending posting... I guess I just want to make sure I really have a developed opinion on something before I post it.)
Kudos to Liz for introducing me to a great product! |

I got a free sample of the BBS acne gel, and since I don't get acne very often, I only now got a chance to try it. It's magic! My little acne got its butt kicked in just one day. I tried X-Zit before, and I rubbed and rubbed and the acne stayed on for a week. I love this BBS Acne Gel stuff. You go Justin. |

Amnis, I tried the BBS conditioner. It doesn't work for me. I'm not sure if it was a user error or what, but it's way too sticky and wouldn't glide through easily. It's shea butter base. So I ended up putting more on various parts of my hair. Then I had a hard time rinsing it. I had to wash my hair off again and again. My hair just got stuck together. Maybe I used too much, but it was definitely not easy to use for me. Anyone else tried and liked it? I did like the moisture rich shampoo, but I had to use a lot of it. The sample bottle lasted three washes only for me. I did try their other products and loved them. |

Are you talking about the leave-in conditioner? I received a sample and didn't care for it much. When I think of leave-in, I compare it to Infusium 23, which you actually leave in your hair. According to the directions, you need to wash this out with shampoo, and it took a couple times to get it all out. It was also difficult to comb through my hair. |

That is it! The leave-in but you are instructed to wash it out after you wait a while. I could not get it off my hair. I had to wash it off a few times as well before it all came out. I actually thought they might have made a mistake and put something else in the jar for me. So I guess it's the same thing for you. |

The leave in conditioner is not for everyone. It is VERY thick. The best way to use it is by washing the hair at night and with the hair still as wet as possible apply a very small amount by rubbing it in your fingers first and then your hair making sure to get the tips well. Your hair will dry a little sticky. Put a pillowcloth on that you expect to change the next day or put a towel down as your hair wil be sticky! The next morning you will need to wash out the conditioner but your hair will be very shiny and without any split ends. Not everyone loves it though as it's a pain to put on. Some people with more coarse hair use it to help them straighten the hair which it works great for. |

Justin, that sounds like a lot of trouble to go through for a conditioner, especially when there are other products on the market that are easier to use. Would you consider reformulating this product? Apparently your shampoo is a nice product, and really should have a conditioner to go with it that is equally loved. You have some really awesome things in your line (I love your toner, acne soap, mask and scrub and am dying to try your eye cream and shampoo!) and it just sounds like this one could be improved to be on par with your other great products.
Also, what about creating a spray-on, leave in conditioner to use on damp hair after shampooing that you do not rinse out, and that increases the shine, elasticity and tensile strength of the hair but DOES NOT have lots of proteins in it (or at least has high quality keratins in very low amount) and that's safe for use every day and that does not make hair greasy or weighed down? Is there a way to do that? I used to use Nioxin Bliss thermal protector that is supposed to increase tensile strength of the hair, but I think it contributed to causing my hair to be brittle and break off. |

MermaidGirl, we are working on creme rinse-out conditioners that have been great in testing. We are working on an orange scented one, a lavender scented one, and one with no added scent, but smells naturally (but also lightly) of skittles candies. The leave-in is a very tough product to make naturally. People with more textured hair love our product so we may keep this current formulation for those who like it but we never give up - of course we're trying to work on a formula which may be less thick and less work to apply... only time will tell if we can make something that will live up to our standards and still be 100% natural. When we have product ready for public testing I'll keep you updated!

cooling a little, kind of feels like it's tightening the face but no tingle as least for me.

poohlisey, I find it very soothing, however, I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's tingly. HTH! |

Justin, do I put the acne gel on AFTER the moisturizer and do I use it both AM and PM? If also AM, then do I put it on AFTER sunscreen, or make sunscreen the last one of the application list? |

ok, so i've decided to give the acne serum another shot - this time totally cutting out the yonka e.p. except for compresses. this way, i'll be able to really tell how the bbs product works on its own. i really do love the lavender soap for the bath (smells lovely), and i'm quite liking the samples of the eye cream and the acne soap (i use it a bit on my back). i thought i had read that bbs is working on a kp product, but now i can't find the post - justin, is that true? also, what soap would you recommend the most for dry skin (body) that does tend to get a bit of kp (thighs) . . . |

Cherisse, acne treatment gel should go first, then lotion, then sunscreen. If it's our lotion you should be fne, if it's aother lotion just make sure it won't clog your pores. Also be very careful with suncreen choice! Do your research - many will clog pores even when they claim they won't!
sark, what's KP?
MermaidGirl, that right! We test on humans, not animals! I would never let anyone test a product that I wouldn't test on myself first. That's our rule here. Everything we make has to first be tested by me and 4 others here. If no reactions occur we can open it up to a larger test. When testing time comes i'll make a special pag on the Best Bath Store website where everyone can sign to up to get samples of new products - the only catch is they have to give us feedback!

Justin, do I use it both in the AM and PM? Also I am trying the Nutrogena sunscreen spf 55 with Helioplex. What do you think of this one? As far as the moisturizer goes, I hope it won't clog my pores, too. But how can I tell? |

justin - kp = keratosis pilaris. sorry, i realized it was carekate, not you who had mentioned something for this (it's those annoying littled clogged hair folicles that are typically on arms, thighs, etc. that create little bumps, but are not acne). |

Hmmm I got my sample a few days ago and used it a couple of times on my spots, but I think it actually inflmed them more... They have definitely not gotten better. Now I'm not putting any special treatment on them and just using my regular skincare and they seem to be getting better. Maybe I did something wrong or didn't use it for long enough... |
I'm surprised it didn't work! Did you put it on before your lotion? How did you apply it? Spot treating or the whole face? Just before going to bed? |

IMO I actually like the consistency. I don't know if I am remembering right or not but I thought someone on this forum mentioned that it is too runny. I don't think so. It's just like a serum, that's all. I actually like it's spreadability.
I haven't tried your bath bars yet but I can say that smaller bars might be a good idea. I myself find really large bars hard to handle and look forward for when they "wear down" a little for easier handling. It might be easier for too for travel or more economical if someone wants to have two bars (one in the shower and one by the sink). Just throwing out some thoughts. |

Please keep the 'gel' consistancy the same. It feels great, easy to spread, easily absorbed. I love it.
I've been using it on my back, it's been working wonders! Thank you so much, Justin. You're the best! |
