I noticed that it contains lemon-peel essential oil (which is just lemon essential oil) which increases photosensitivity. Yet the instructions say that it can be used during the day. Does anyone know more about this? Since I freckle easily (that's the reason I use the whitening aromessence, it's very effective btw) I really can't afford to risk increased photosensitivity. And if it shouldn't be used during the day what aromessence would you recommend? I was thinking about the Neals Yard Remedy rose oil. Any other recs? |

If you freckly easily, maybe you shouldn't chance it. I too try to stay away from lemon oil and sun because of my fairness and freckles. Maybe you could wear it under a sunscreen? |

s8715 I too have wondered about the Decleor Aromessences and daytime use. I have a sample of the Rose one for sensitive skin and that has bitter orange oil which is also supposed to be photosensitizing. Personally I would not take a chance and use this during the day but it would be nice to hear from some of our members that use these Aromaessences with photosensitizing oils during the day and see what their thoughts on this are! |

I have used the Decleor Whitening Aromessence.
I have ultra-ultra-ultra sensitive skin. I think the lemon peel used in the formula must be extremely mild because I did not have any photosensitivity. Mind you I did not wear it when I went outside. I liked to use it on those make-up-less days when I was in the house not going out anywhere. I would put a few drops of the oil on my face and that was it. I have reactions to most products but this oil was very well tolerated by my skin without any allergic response or irritation.
I did not find it to be an exceptional product. Although I found it to be nice and gentle to my face it did not do much else to my skin.
I relly enjoyed the very light lemony aroma but aside from that I wasn't too impressed with it. I did not repurchase this product. |

I guess the best thing to do is to try wearing it outside with sunscreen on a not so sunny day...Anyway I have enough freckles not to be bothered by a few more . But leeleedeedee, I'm sorry the oil didn't work for you, it is actually one of the very few products that truly fades my freckles discernably. I do agree that it's very mild, since my skin is somewhat sensitive too and cannot tolerate many of the vit-C products people use to treat their freckles. Thanks again! |

If the Decleor Whitening Aromessence helps get rid of my freckles, I'd like to try it for sure. |
