One of my friends who's living in Australia at the current moment absolutely loves the peanut butter m&ms... she says in Brisbane, they don't sell them.
For you little aussies out there, is this true?
Also- can you ship candy to another country? |

I've never been to Australia but from what I understand chocolate/peanut butter is not a popular combo there. When I was in high school I had an Australian exchange student staying with me - we introduced her to Reese's peanut butter cups and she spit it out and called it a "vile contraption!"
I've shipped candy from the US to Japan and Europe, so I'm sure you could to Australia, the only problem is that it can get melty. |

Yes you are right, Rez, for a country that eats Vegemite with CHEESE (ACK that is so something I could never, ever, stomach) you would think they could stomach peanut butter and chocolate. (I am an odd Aussie... I love the P&C combo and hate vegemite&cheese and also beer.. oh and meat pies. ) I cannot bring myself to eat "peanut butter & jelly" sangers though. ick.
OH, but if you are ever frying up some spinach (using dark sesame oil of course), toss in a tsp or two of peanut butter. YUMMY SCRUMMY!! (luch time!!) |

That sounds good ... sort of like Thai inspired. Have you ever had peanut butter on a hamburger? There used to be this grill that served The Elvis Burger. No other toppings ... just peanut butter on hamburger.I got it on a dare - and I must say ... it was actually REALLY good. |

Well, I do cartwheels for the Malaysian chicken sticks with the spicy peanut sauce. OMG.. SO craving that now.... I think I have to buy some tonight....
I think I would need the PB made into a sauce to go on a burger though.
One of my fav. ways to eat PB is on hot buttered toast. OMG to die for..... |

They do sell peanut butter M&M, well they did. I sale some but it is a slow-moving product so it might be discontinued in Australia now.
And candy is definitely sendable, but do it soon as we will be getting summer soon, which means candy melting. |

I love peanut butter m&m's and this will be the first thing I buy when I land there
I have not seen these anywhere in Australia (trust me, I have looked) other than in tiny and super expensive packets at gourmet chocolate shops where they sell imported stuff that you can't get here. The good news is that as of a few months ago, we now have almond m&m's (also impossible to buy here before).
You can most definitely send *sealed* sweets to Australia. I am pretty sure that Carrie has sent me the aforementioned items before Your worst problem is not customs but the high temperatures. Let's just say that my Junior Mints were a Junior Mint block by the time they arrived (which did not make them any less nice ). |

Mabsy, do you remember the ad in Australia when they brought out the almond snickers bar? That would have to be the funniest ad I have ever seen in my life .... "... must be the nuts" |

also known as a "Senior Mint!" Seriously, I've shipped sealed candy to both Mabsy and another Aussie member without probs – other than the possibility of melting. I’ve thought about shipping candies only in the winter time, but that’s neigh on impossible because it’s ALWAYS going to be summer in one hemisphere or the other!!
BTW, Mabsy, has your lash stuff parcel ever arrived? I'm starting to get worried.... |

If you'd been brought up in the U.S., you'd probably have ended up taking them in your lunchbox everyday to school! I know that was one of my dietary staples when I was in elementary school...my fave was PB and grape jelly -- which is also quite YUMMY on toast, even today! |

I guess it is kind a like we little Aussies going off to school with our Vegemite sangers.
I seem to remember seeing peanut butter with grape jelly swirled through it last time I was in and Aussie supermarket.. one day I will try. I will try. But god forbid that I love it. |

What is a "sanger"?
I just adore peanut butter and chocolate together...although I don't really like PB by itself. Whoever invented peanut butter cups is my hero! I'm guessing their name was Reese.
I've always wanted to try Vegemite...is it good? What is it exactly?
OK, enough of this, I'm hungry and it's LUNCHTIME!! |

That reminded me. When I was dating my hubby (from Boston) he sent a 'Lobster Pot' from Legal Seafoods to Hawai'i. The company has sent live lobsters to Hawai'i before and they said it would be no problem.
Well .... 5 days later they finally arrived. Mr. UPS-man suggested my parents refuse the package to get a refund because he highly doubted that it was a "live lobster" package any longer.
Turns out the package was stuck in Oakland, California for 4 days ... in a warehouse ... during 100 degree weather.
Yuck ... poor lobsters |

Several times a week I have to have a peanut butter and chocolate chip sandwich, and put it in a sandwich toaster thing until it's nice and gooey inside and the bread is toasted and golden on the outside. YUM! |

A sandwich
I'm not a big fan of peanut butter and the thought of eating it with jam (jelly) I must say doesn't appeal but you never know until you try it - I just might one day. I haven't seen peanut butter m&ms either, is there a significant difference in taste compared to choc covered peanuts?
Now vegemite on the other hand I eat regularly on toast and can even tolerate it with the cheese.
Tiger_Tim, some of our bakeries sell cheddarmite scrolls which is a combination of cheddar cheese and vegemite and actually they taste better than the old vegemite and cheese sangers! |
