| OK, so as I might have mentioned before, I've really gotten into mineral foundation recently, so I've been trying to expand my brush collection. Imagine my delight when I found that a brush seller on ebay was going out of business and was selling expensive brushes for dirt cheap. I was attracted to the NARS bronzer brush because with its short, fat handle and dense bristles it looked perfect for buffing my mineral make up into perfection. When I first got it I felt it and it seemed OK--- I guess I expected it to feel a bit softer and compared to the luscious Alima brush I got it was nothing special, but heck, I only paid $9 for it so I was ok with it. BUT!!!! Today I actually tried it out on my face and OMG, it felt soooo scratchy AND it made my face all red and irritated. Seriously, if I had paid full price ($50!!!!) for this brush, NARS would be getting a nasty letter from me. As it is I'm upset about flushing that $9 down the drain, but you win some and you lose some. This sucker is getting put up for swap at MUA PDQ if anyone wants to try their luck with it (maybe it would make a decent body brush???), but if anyone is considering plunking down the big bucks for this thing, I would seriously advise against it. For that kind of money you could get 2, count em, 2 Alima powder brushes and experience true luxury. Shame on you, NARS, for selling a brush like this for so much money!!! Shame on you!!!!! |

O.K. I paid full $$$ for this & I can gurantee it'll be grabbed up in no time. This may not work for MMU but it applies bronser like a dream. It'll buff it in till it looks really natural-the old 'lit from within' look. Try it with bronzing powder before you give up on it-it goes for $65 (I think) cdn .
The only thing I can think of if your skin's really sensitive, mine dosen't feel that scratchy at all. BTW, have you tried BB's Kabuki for MMU? That's one's really soft. |

Well, I can definitely say that my skin IS super sensitive, and also maybe I've been spoiled by all the years of using my silky-soft powder brush from Urban Decay. I definitely think that the NARS brush buffed well enough, but using it just isn't an option for me considering how much it irritated my face. It may just be that sensitive-skinned ladies like me are better off sticking with high-quality synthetic brushes...
Has anyone else ever had their skin rubbed the wrong way by a scratchy brush? |

I use the NARS bronzer brush to apply my Armani Sheer Cream blushes.
I don't use bronze any more - when I did I liked the brush.I'm glad you've got a super soft one for your face.

Thanks Emma. I have a cream bluh by Armani ( no.2) that I have a hard time applying with my fingers. Thanks for the tip.  |
