I have been thinking a bit lately about taking some supplements to "preserve" what ever is left of my youth...sigh sigh.
Can you guys talk about your experiences? I believe some one mentioned taking silica is good for skin. Please advise.
Cheers

I'd say just by being part of this website is a start, right?
I know there was an excellent discussion regarding this in the old forum, I wonder if we can still acess it? I will try for you to find it, ok?
In the meantime, let's go through our beauty bags and see what we can wear tomorrow for mother's day and feel refreshed and beautiful and perhaps even go shopping. |

The old thread was called "vitamin supplements for better skin". I know there's some way of putting the link in this message but I don't know how to do it. So for now you can just do a search under that title and volia!
I was recently told that a stressed out liver can contribute to dark circles under the eyes (as can heredity etc...). The woman I spoke with said one way of helping the olde liver out is to have the juice from half a lemon in water every morning 10 minutes before having anything else. She also suggested drinking it with a straw so that the acid in the juice doesn't harm your teeth. The jury is still out on that one.
Milk thistle is an excellent supplement for the liver as well. For now I'm trying both.
Hope this helps |

Hey Jenny,
Found the old thread about this, have a look at http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1298&highlight=supplements quite a few interesting suggestions in there. You might also want to read up about MSM as well (not sure if it's mentioned in the above link/thread). I taking that at the moment (though not really regularily - just whenever I remember ).

I take several vitamins daily, and I chose Shaklee because they contain bioflavinoids which helps repair/prevent the small broken capillaries on your skin. (At least that's what I was told by a dermatologist). Every day it's: calcium, Vitamin C, Iron, and a multi-vitamin.

Yeah, I heard that too, and read it in quite a few places. They are supposed to help with strengthening the walls of the veins and also helping with circulation. Whenever my mother buys vit C tablets she makes sure they have bioflavonoids in them. |

Hey Mabsy
Thanks for the link.
Thanks to ever increasing work load, I have not started my expedition to get supplements yet - so your thread came in useful.
I did not pay much attention to the subject previously, didn't know there were so many posts on it.
BTW, eh, whats MSM?? - I just don't want to get into the LOL mistake again...he he he

MSM stands for Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane. It's a source of organic sulfur. It's supposed to be beneficial for increasing the strength of joint cartilage (that's why many arthritis supplements incorporate MSM), hair and skin. |

`Guess that makes me a novice, and not too worried about my health, since I take only a daily multi-vitamin every morning with my breakfast. I'm healthier now than I was, say 10 years ago, so no worries. And, psssst! last week, I was also eating pieces of a Cadbury Dairy Milk bar with my breakfast coffee (after my decent breakfast, of course!). Hey, you only live once, and I plan to enjoy my life. Not too a-rententive about those sorts of things. |
