So ladies - tell me what you do to your eyes (re makeup) on a daily basis.
I wish I could go bare like some people who look really good with bare eyes (or bare eyed-look) but I can't do that, especially not when I go out, so I always line my eyes at least.
Basically it's penciled-in brows, a sweep of shadow (lately mostly raisin. Sometimes gunmetal, sometimes olive green etc depending on my mood and/or outfit. raisin seems to be used a lot now because it goes with many of my clothes and gives me the 'lookie-here-I'm-only-wearing-eyeliner' look) on my upper lid and black gel or powder liner on both top and bottom lash lines (contrary to most makeup advice, my eyes look smaller when the lower lashes are unlined. I don't go all the way though, just about a third in from the outer corners). Then a coat of black mascara.
On dressy days I'd layer on shadow base, highlighter etc but my quick eye-makeup routine is simply do brows, lightly sweep one shade of shadow, line eyes and brush on mascara.
What about you? |

Let's see, as far as eye makeup, I go very light. I have very pale complexion with pale blue eyes, blonde eyelashes and blonde brows. So I have to keep my makeup natural otherwise I look morbid. I use Dior Show Mascara in Chestnut color (brown) and for eyeshadow I wear Nars Creme Blush in PennyLane (rosy pink) and swipe it on my lids. That's about it. I can't wear eyeliner because it always looks so dark on me. I did get my eyebrows tinted and shaped for the first time last week and they are now light brown. So I purchased Chanel Professional Brow Duo in Blonde to fill in any gaps. The brows definitely makes a difference in bringing out my eyes. |

Mascara, always. No matter where I'm going or what I'm doing. Some days I'll sweep just some shadow on my lid (usually a nude or glimmer), and if I have time I'll line. I love black eyeliner on the top lid only, and I even have blue and purple liners I play around with.
I like to do my eyes; it's like painting. |

I have to put foundation everyday. Mascara and eyeliner if I have time. |

I have to use concealer around my eyes, or they'll look red and tired (<--lack of sleep)
I usually smudge a darkish eyeliner into my lashline (Revlon's Vixen or MAC's Teddy), then apply Ardell (to hold the curl from my Shiseido), curl my lashes and apply mascara. I apply it only to the top lashes if I don't have much time, since my bottom lashes require another primer (Shiseido'S Mascara Base) to prevent any mascara from smearing.
My greatest wish (besides perfect skin, of course) is that I had upcurled, thick, dark lashes so I could avoid the eye makeup routine every morning, but alas, I am cursed with thin, sparse ones. So the eye makeup is a necesssity--I look so much more blah and sleepy if I don't make them up. |

I'm typically a no-makeup girl, but lately I've been playing around with using it for work.
So I've been using Milani's curl mascara and Wet N Wild eyeshadows. For the price, they're jsut as good as MAC! I wish i could wear liner, but I've got asian eyes that only look smaller when i line my eyes. |

Oh have you tried Milani's eyeshadows too?
They're so fun. |

I talked to an Asian lady who has almost perfect facial skin in her 40s. She said that she never used foundation, but eyeliner and eyebrown pencil are must-have for her daily uses. |

I haven't! CVS just bought out the local SavOn and I've been going there practically every week to see if they've gotten the stuff I want in. I got some Avene, so I think they'll get LRP and the Milani endcap is there, jsut nto fully stocked. I think the cashiers recognize me anymore! |

Yep--my mom has had really great skin almost her entire life and she's never really bothered with makeup except for black pencil eyeliner and a bit of red lipstick. She usually skips the lipstick, but always puts a bit of liner on--it makes such a difference on a certain kind of Asian eye. |

I'm a no-eye makeup girl, on a daily basis I just use my fluidlines and just line my eyes. When I feel like it I'll sweet some shadow and when I'm REALLY in the mood (and have the time) I'll use mascara. It's a hassle for me to use mascara and takes an additional 5+ minutes of my routine because I'll have to curl my lashes, then curl my corner lashes (w/my trusty Tweezerman), then base, then mascara. Usually I'll always have eyeshadow on if I'm going to use mascara so ends up my routine is lengthened by quite a bit - so often than not I'm too lazy to go through all that. |

When I don't feel like doing anything special with my eyes I'll go bare but I usally apply at least a bit of mascara as my eyes feel and look too naked without it. (I have long lashes but they are super fine.) For work and going out I apply some shadow, liner and mascara. For evening I'll go heavier on the shadow and add some highlighter pencil as well. I like to play with makeup and colours but I usually keep it pretty natural. LOL
Just wanted to add that Jane Iredale shadows are my favourite in case people are looking for recommendations. |

I blush very easily and have freckles, so I find that lining my eyes makes me look too hard (think Lindsay Lohan...eyeliner + freckles looks really odd). So I go for the sweet, doe eyed look. Black mascara (I have dark hair) and Laura Mercier cream eyeshadow in platinum, which is the prettiest nude gleam. If I want to get dolled up in the evenings I use a little chocolate brown eyeshadow as liner on the upper lashes only, or sometimes a gold shimmery eyeliner (tarte has a great one). |

For me:
1. mascara on top lashes only (either Kiss Me or Fiberwig)
2. brow cream to extend my browline and a bit of powder to give them some color (my brows are very blonde) |

A must for me during the day: eyeliner and brow pencil. I can't live without eyeliner as it defines my eyes and make it appear bigger.
For night: eyeliner, brow pencil, eyeshadow, mascara, maybe false lashes when i feel like painting the town red. I have tons of fun with eyeshadow, and always on the lookout for new eye makeup ideas. |

i used to use only liquid eyeliner since it's the only thing that wouldn't bleed on me. now i just dip my eyeliner brush in some water and use my eyeshadows as my eyeliner. i'm using dr. hauschka's eyeshadow duo in some olive greenish color and a light almost white color with a bit of a green hue to it. i always put a really light color eyeshadow on the bottom, it really opens up my eyes. i can't really use eyeshadow with any color since i have asian eyes that lack
"the fold". one time I went to the MAC counter to try on some eyeshadow and one of the SGs put light blue and dark blueeyeshadow on half of my eyelid. my eyes looked super puffy and i seriously looked like a geisha without the kimono and red lips. the most i can really do is use a dark brown liquid liner top and bottom, and a black eye pencil at the base of my top lashes. and, of course, loads of black mascara for my pathetic looking eyelashes. sigh, how i envy women who can actually use eyeshadow...
are there any other asian females here w/o the double lid that have had any success with using eyeshadow? |

I keep sleeping in and waking up late, which feels great, but then I look like I just got out of bed. Normally, I wouldn't bother with makeup, but at this point, I'm using the easiest stuff possible.
Garden Botanika's Eye Crayon in Latte (it's been dc'd, but Mocha is fairly close), a swipe of CG's Full N Soft/L'oreal's Voluminous and Benefit's Dandelion blush, and that's it.
What makes this possible is that I spend time on brow maintenance (trimming, plucking and shaping) so that we never have a bad brow day. |
