Hello!
Has anyone tried the new Mario Badescu Acne line? I'm also checking out the buffering lotion (says its for cystic acne)...I'm still fighting with these huge bumps on my chin and cheeks. They get inflammed every once n a while and I then they scar...then I treat them and usually get more or they get inflammed again. Anyway...I'm wondering if anyone has used these products. |

I have used the Buffering Lotion for s few years on my cysts. This is the best product for cystice acne, IME. I think the label says to apply every other night, but I've used it nightly and it reduces the pain and the size of the cyst faster than anything else I've used. The cysts still take time to completely go away, but this product seems to get them turned around to healing and fading more quickly for me. I am also interested in the MB acne line for my teenage son. |

New? Are you talking about their Acne Serum and Acne Cleanser???
I've tried all the other products...I actually like them quite well but because they are so specialized (3 different products: The Drying Lotion, Drying Cream, and Buffering Lotion) I wanted to simplify and kind of phase them out but I can't seem to! Almost out of my drying lotion, so I'll be repurchasing that at some point...it works so well for me. I also love the buffering lotion for zits during the day, but I don't think I'll repurchase it. I have the drying cream and dot it on zits at night (because I'm almost out of the drying lotion) but not sure if I'll repurchase it, when the drying lotion works just as well. The good thing about the cream though is you can use it lightly as a concealer (depending on how light your skin tone is).
I have no desire to try their Acne serum...while I love their other acne products, the serum just seems so mundane ingredient-wise. As for the cleanser, it has SLS in it, which is a no no for some.
If you want to try their basics, go with the Acne Repair kit (44 bucks).
Oh and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the silver powder. Cheap and works WONDERS on blackheads!!! |

Paris, can you tell me more about how the silver powder works on blackheads? How long til you see results from using it? Another product that I think I may have to get for DS. I gave him my Drying Cream also, since I haven't used it in many months. Just a few nights of his using that and I see that it is helping to dry up his fresh zits and reduce redness. He has so many blackheads. Does the silver powder help get rid of those without him having to try to self-extract them? (He's not good at that and neither am I, and I can only swing a facial for him about every 2 months, for that purpose.) Thanks for helping! |

Many use the Silver Powder in tandem with extraction. I don't get them super bad so it takes care of mine without extraction. You moisten a cotton ball, dip in the powder and I press it around my nose and chin.
I leave it on for 10 minutes then remove. You are supposed to remove with toner (I bought an MB toner just for this but I always end up rinsing most of it off first, then using a tad bit of toner for the rest).
Check out MUA for other ways to use it.
