I am having so much trouble finding a natural-ish sunscreen that can be used with Hauschka. I keep hearing the the Hauschka ones are painfully white. I tried Mychelle, the new one, and had about 100 clogged pores that took forever to get rid of.
I'd love to hear if anyone has other ideas.

michelec, the Dr. Hauschka sunscreens are pretty white; however, I've found the SPF 22 For Children to be a less so than, say, the suncare stick. I'm pretty fair, so I can usually use the SPF 22 without looking more than usually ghostly.
I recall someone on this forum recommending blending the Hauschka sunscreen with the translucent bronze concentrate. That sounds practical to me, but I haven't tried it so I can't tell you whether it really works or not. |

Thanks Shanno. I think I even have a little sample of that one. And I also already have the bronzer.
I'm of hispanic descent so anything too light looks so pasty on me. |

| I second the SPF 22 for kids. I also use Clarins UV 40+. I love it. I recently started mixing it with the tranlucent bronze and it seems to be all that I need these days (well, if you don't count concealer etc) |

I'm currently using the Dr. H SPF 8 and getting really good results - it's not too white on my skin and leaves it nice & soft. Oh, and the smell...  I just want to butter my toast with it!!!!! |

| I use Dr. Hauschka and my sunscreen is La Roche Posay Dermo-Peds lotion SPF50+/PPD 28. Unfortunately, the Dr. H sunscreens provide woefully inadequate protection. I choose to receive my daily chemical load from a powerful sunscreen, which is the only thing that has been proven to be beneficial to skin in the long run. |

I use Hauschka stuff and I combine with Juice Beauty Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30. That works well for me, doesn't cause breakouts, and isn't too chalky (though I am probably much fairer than you). Another tip is to buy Dr. H's Translucent Bronzing Concentrate and mix in a bit of that with your sunscreen. It's tough because you can't customize the color, but it helps tone down the chalkiness.
There's also Devita's sunscreen, try doing a search in the threads - it uses an allegedly transparent zinc as the block, and it tends to feel a LOT lighter and less greasy than most physical sunblocks. However, I personally felt like I sweated/wore it off and it didn't protect, or maybe that it just didn't protect that well in the first place. There's some forum discussion on that too. |

i used to use this as well. but i don't find myself wanting to butter my toast with it  |

An update re: non-chalky physical sunscreens - I didn't realize this, but Juice Beauty came out with a darker-toned SPF 20 moisturizer:

I've never tried it, as I'm quite fair, but I just saw this on their website and thought I'd pass along the info. Even combined with another sunblock, it might help. Another thing you can do to combat the chalk effect is mix in a bit of bronzer (liquid or powder; I've done this with Dr. H Translucent Bronzing Concentrate). Hope this helps! |

| Clarins spf40 is good for face and it does absorb to your skin and you won't even notice it after several min. |
