I have the Oxylight (still don't get the differences between these two devices) and I LOVE it. Just this morning, I used it for one puffy eye to stimulate the lymph nodes and all over. I agree, the glow is wonderful and it is a lovely device that I use again and again. Well, well worth the investment. |

I used to have the Oxylight and broke the tip so I went to get a new one. By chance, the major US distributor lives nearby and I went and talked to him. He was just rolling out the Dermawand at the time. He said the main difference beside the shape (I liked the ergonomics of the Oxylight) was that the Dermawand was much more powerful. He demonstrated the difference between the top setting on the Oxylight and the top setting on the Dermawand and there is a big difference. The higher setting is good for zapping blemishes, but not needed for general facial toning in my opinion. |

Excellent, thanks, Boski! Now, I will have to look into the Dermawand for more powah! |

Does anyone have the Dermawand AND other gadgets? Where do you think this falls in with the others as far as what it excells at? If LED is going to work deeper and better for collagen and surface color for example then why duplicate with time and effort with Dermawand? Is the Dermawand working just as well to lift as Nuface? What about refining texture? Are people actually relying on this for that or do they feel LED's or Ultrasonic is really what you need to go to for that. I KNOW we are all different but it still helps to hear your experiences. |

lillilulu - I read in your other posts that you avoid using dermawand around areas with broken caps, can you describe exactly how it worsens the condition? I have redness and very minute broken caps around areas where I want to use the dermawand for treatment, this is the only issue that is preventing me from taking the plunge!
Does anyone else use this for non-cystic acne, but rather blocked pores/milia type comedones? |

Hi Miranets. I found that if I used it on or around my nose, I would get new broken caps pop up, and I would also get them if I used it on a higher setting, so now I just keep it on a low setting (1 or 2) and avoid my sensitive areas. In my opinion, if you have very sensitive areas, prone to broken caps, avoid using it there at all. I do use it on a higher setting on my neck, no problem. HTH. |

So, I have been using Dermawand daily since the end of January 2007 and it's making a huge difference to my face. I really like that it dries up my pimples fast so that I have no chance to pick them. I have had fewer breakouts. Gosh! Every woman should definitely own one and use it! It takes only five minutes to brush the wand through my face.
For new users, I would advise to start at a low setting first. I started with setting 1 and then progressed on to the next setting week by week. |

Hi Radiantface:
Do you think it is helping with clogged pores and blackheads? |

I also have been using DermaWand on & off for the past three years. I don't know why I stopped.
One think I don't like about it is that you have to plug it in and sometimes I am in a hurry and don't have time to set it up. Another think I don't like is, because I purchased it from eBay, I got it from a seller who is from UK. The plug is different and it's a bit of a hassle to plug in the adapter.
As for good things about DermaWand, it is so amazing that I don't know why I stop using it at times. My skin looks clearer, fresher, and it does help control my acne.
I really love DermaWand! |

I bought the Dermawand, used it for a couple of weeks, didn't notice anything so I sent it back. They received it on June 9th and I still haven't gotten my refund. The toll free # on their site has been disconnected. Does anyone have their address? I wrote it down but can't seem to locate it.
I have since bought the DLP light therapy, I enjoy just sitting there for 9 min twice a day, haven't noticed anything on that one either, but I have 60 days to test that. That's what I didn't like about the Dermawand, it was to time consuming. |

Hello, Ladies. This is my first time posting, but I feel like I know you all so well from all the advice I've read. I would have posted before, but I guess my name says it all! After doing a lot of reading on the web, I think I'm going to give the Dermawand a try. I love beauty gadgets! When I used to get facials on a regular basis, they used something similar and I looked great. I'm now looking for something to tone my face as well, any ideas? I've heard about Nuface and Tua Viso, but I don't know what to get. I used to have a Dermal Tone, but it was a little painful in the eye area. I would appreciate any advice. |

hi there,
I'm really interested in purchasing this, but i'm torn between Derma Wand and Baby Quasar.
Thoughts, anyone? I know the price is different ($120 vs $400 for BQ if bought on Ebay), but i just want to give one of them a try, and i'm willing to shell out the bucks for one or the other, whichever achieves the best results, and if i can save some $$ and get good results with the Derma Wand, then that's what i'll do.
In last month's Wish Magazine in Canada, the model Tricia Helfer (host of Canada's Top Model) was quoted as saying that she has a Derma Wand and she loves it, so that got me thinking.
there are lots of positive reviews here for both so i'm just not sure, this is why i just wanted to bump up this thread a little
thanks! |

Steffers, I've been debating the same thing. I'm going to do a little research on it today and let you know what I find out. |

I guess it just depends on the results you want and what your problem areas are. They both look like great tools. If you still can't decide after reading about them both, I suggest trying the Dermawand first because it's cheaper. I think that I like the idea of getting the BQ, because you use it on clean skin. If you don't mind me asking, what are the skin issues that you're trying to fix? I'll probably start with the Dermawand in a month or two and post any results that I get. |

The DermaWand is an excellent device for acne. When I worked in the salon people would come in for high frequency treatments to keep their skin free of breakouts. High frequency was also used after facial waxing.
Machines used in salons look more like the ones in the below link. The DermaWand is very similiar. I purchased a DermaWand but had to be extremely careful. I have broken capillaries. If you use high frequency on capillaries they get much worse.

For the acne issues, I have occassional spots which I have tried to treat with DW but it does not seem to help at all, instead I find it to irritate the spot even more. I have had far more visible results with the BQ. |

I'm hoping to clear up my skin, lift the eye area, and reduce fine lines. |

I use it on my acne at least three time a day and it does tingle, maybe even burn because your acne is inflamed skin and I found DW to slowly reduce in size and my skin may get dry in that spot so all that gunk can purge, but mostly it just disappears without any purging. |

Miranets, using the Dermawand on any of the higher settings caused broken caps to pop out in sensitive areas on me too... |

I have used around on setting 5 and not had any issues of aggravating my broken caps. Although I never concentrate on "problem" areas where I have small patches of veins, I have redness in general and it does not seem to cause any major problems. |

I love all the gadgets so I couldn't help lusting after the Dermawand after reading this thread. I purchased it from Ebay - it was only $50.00 so its probably the older version. When it arrived, I wasn't too impressed, it looked cheap and nasty. Anyway, I've been using it twice a day for a month and I LOVE IT!! I was a bit cautious at first because I've previously spent a fortune having IPL to get rid of all my broken caps, so didn't want them to return. So far I've had no problems in that respect - if anything, it has improved the tone of my skin and the redness I had on my chin is far less noticeable. It works wonders on those horrible under the skin eruptions which usually hang around for weeks - zaps them to oblivion.
However, my most amazing result has been on two very annoying "liver" spots that I had on the side of my face - one has gone and the other is fading fast. I am now using it on my chest area, which is very sun damaged and specifically on a large freckle that I have had for years. This is now beginning to fade too.
I love this little gadget as I truly think that it has made my skin look healthier. I'm now lusting after this machine: http://www.jellenproducts.com/skincare_highfrequency1.htm
Thoughts anyone - I wonder if it would be even better than the Dermawand? |

That attachment with that product looks good. I am not familiar with it at all though.
I still love my DermaWand and it seems to be enough for me right now. |

I just love this board! I have never heard of derma wand until now and would love to try it! It appears to have great results for treating acne-but how does it work on fine lines? I'm looking to treat uneven complexion, fine lines and eyelift. |

I am considering one or both of these products. Has anyone had experience with both and can make a comparison.
Does the BQ do the "brow lift" when used under the eyebrow? It seems the Derma Wand doesn't claim to address age spots or other discoloration.
Is this the main difference? Or is the technology of the BQ so superior to the Derma Wand that it clearly justifies the price? Thanks so much for nay feedback? |
