I know this is a skin care forum ,but I'm looking for a natural( non deet) mosquito repellant. Any suggestions?
It goes on the skin after all.
Thanks |

Check the DIY page. CareKate recommended this really easy solution, something to do with a laundry powder (a particular brand). She also has a wonderful recipe for an insect repellant which does not feel sticky at all. |

another easy solution.. if you take vitamin B complex, apparently it makes your blood a bit smelly and distastful to mozzies!! |

candy, a forum member (www.candessence.com), made me one last summer that was brilliant. very moisturising and very effective (if a little to heavy for hot humid nights). i sleep in the buff and my derriere was getting bitten to an inch of its life before i used this. my skin definitely loved it (who can say this about a bug repellent???). the only downside was the heavy use of citrus EO's made my boyfriend sneeze. i had to apply it in another room and let it dry before i came near him.
i don't believe that it is listed on her site yet, but you can alway PM or email her. |

Rub a used laundry fabric softener dryer sheet over your exposed skin and clothing before stepping outside. I don't know HOW it works, but it really DOES repel mosquitoes AND bees/wasps! |
