I usually apply Decleor Instant Purifying Mask 2 or 3 times a week. Before applying the mask, I exfoliate my face with Natural Micro-Smoothing Cream. This past week, I did that twice except that I Derma Wand my face before applying the mask, and my face has been experiencing a prickly, warm feeling. I am planning to stop using the exfoliating cream next week and see how I feel. |

I think that the results of overexfoliation really depend on your skin type. My skin is so sensitive that when I overexfoliate, I get red raw patches that in a few days turn to scaly patches. It's oh so charming.
I think you've got a good idea...maybe try stopping the exfoliating cream and see how that works. Good luck!!! |

It sounds to me that you have overexfoliated.
If you have any aloe hanging around that may help you to heal your skin.
Take care.

I have had the same experience when I am overly zealous with my microfiber cloth: I wake up wiht red raw patches that become scaly patches and/or scabs. Very appealing. |

I can easily do too much exfolating. I am quite sensitive. Recently I used a cleanser with a micro fibre washcloth and in the morning had red patches on my cheeks. (Obviously too much of a good thing!)
I was able to cover it up with my MMU.
I can't use AHA at all and I haven't used an exfoliate (manual grainy type) in weeks. My skin looks good through. I think sometimes sensitive types feel they must exfoliate....
I do use Avene Retinalhyde products for chemical type exfoliate and I can use BHA with no problems. |

Be careful using aloe. Make sure you don't use the plant, without first boiling it down. Sometimes the plant can have bacteria, ie a pink tinge. |

- Increased redness.
- Flushed feeling.
- Increased dryness/peeling.
Very general. |

Sothy,
Heat destroys the healing properties of aloe vera.
I would never boil it.
If I use aloe from a plant a home, I pick the leaf, split it open and use it.
Take care.

Redness..Raw feeling to the skin.. when applying usual moisturizers the skin tends to have a "burning" sensation..hurts to touch. Thats how I know if I over exfloliated -Melissa |
