Just wondering how often everyone has a facial? I've been told once a month is ideal, for best results. Do you agree?

I tend to have one a lot less every two to three months but I do use face cloths masks usually 10 in a packet very often. Do not know where you live but all facials are very expensive in Ireland.

I go about every 8 weeks. If I could afford it, I would be there monthly. Best thing I have done for my skin. I don't have microderm done.

I think once a month is ideal, however, you could get by with going every two months and still see a positive change in your skin. Allure has a pretty good list on their site for people to go to. That way you can find someone in your area.

I think once a month is right for an overall rule. Depends on your skn really. And how it is at a particilar time. My facialist (the same one) dd at one troublesome time advise every three weeks but currently says every 6 weeks is fine. Which I'm glad about as they are pricy. Definitely worth it though, I justify the amount of money I spend on facials but not going out that much. I'd much rather spend the money on a facial than in a wine bar.

Do many of you with acne-prone/sensitive skin get facials? I've never had one just because I always hear from people that they get more spots after one or that the products irritated them.

Thoughts?

I go every month. To me it's like getting your teeth cleaned. You can do it yourself, but once in a while you need someone to really get in there and get it all done.

For frequency of facials, I have always understood that you should go at the change of the season at least and then determine your need from there . . . dependoing upon the weather and other factors.

I'm acne prone and I don't go as often as I probably should. It can get expensive at $100. I've had a bad reaction to the products at one spa. I broke out like crazy for a few weeks. I went back to the spa and had the same thing happen again. I figure it's the same as trying new products at home. You cross your fingers and hope you don't break out. After what I'd call a good facial I'll get lots of small whiteheads the next morning. Easy for me to extract. Then my breakouts will be less than normal. I think the extractions during a facial just bring the junk to the surface. So, yes immediately after my skin gets worse but then it stays clearer for longer than normal.

My skin generally has no problems... so for me, I get collagen facials to just help with firming things up, and also to extract blackheads and general gunk in my skin.

I used to go once a month, but I've been a lot busier lately, so now I try to get there at least once every 1.5 months or so.

I get occasional breakouts, but I do have very sensitive skin so I don't have AHA facials or microdermabrasion or anything done. I have only had a few facials but have noticed a great deal of improvement in my skin lately, so I'll try & go every month if I can afford it...but luckily the day spa I go to gives student discounts!

I would love to go monthly but even if it's afforable, I can't imagine finding the time. Crying or Very sad

At this point, I've been going on an "as needed" basis, when something's going on with my skin that I feel like I can't handle at home.

Smile I just feel so pampered with a great European facial - has to have steam, massage, galvanic current and UV wand tho - would love to make it once a month! Amy

What is a good price for a GOOD facial? and never pay more that what?

Just so I know when I'm shopping around. I went to an Aveda salon and it was $90 and wonderful but I'd like to look around more.

I always had bad experiences with facials done at spas. Once my face turned so red and inflamed during the facial that the facialist freaked out, ran out to get the manager to come and apologize. I ended up not having to pay for it but it's not worth having to try to get my skin back to its normal state. I guess, it's just one of those things that isn't meant for me. I'd like to be able to get one though as it's so relaxing (except of the burning on my face that is).

I use to get a facial every other month. Now, I just use good skincare. I don't think I need facials anymore.
