As I know, it's a dangerous ingredient
However I find it in some skincare
Actually, Does H2O2 harm skin? |

That is an interesting question... I have heard that it is good as a toner (though found it to bleach eybrows, so I stopped).
I got stitches last summer and the Dr. told me to wash the wound each day with 1/2 H2O2 and 1/2 H2O solution. However, I later read (much to my chagrin) that H2O2 can stop cells from healing properly (deactivates something).
In short, I am pretty much avoiding it except to use it as mouthwash, for which full strength (3%) has recently been deemed safe. |

Hydrogen Peroxide will definitely bleach eyebrows...I used to use it to bleach my hair!!! (When I was in high school...fried my hair actually).
I can't imagine that anything that takes color out of hair and kills germs would be okay to use on your face for an extended period of time. |

hydrogen peroxide is not harmful on intact skin, but if it's open, the oxygen produced from hydrogen peroxide has a very small chance of going into your bloodstream. But other than it's bleaching action, it's not as dangerous and harmful as some may say. |

My understanding is that hydrogen peroxide is pro-oxidant, but that its antiseptic qualities can outweigh this if skin condition warrants its use. So, for spot treatments, wounds, or even masks, it's probably OK. Because it bleaches it can seem to brighten skin, but this is only temporary. I wouldn't use it all over the face on a daily basis. |

Peroxide will dry your skin out and if you have any acne problems will appear to kill off the pimples. However, it can leave scarring from the acne. I avoid it all together. |
