Hi - may I ask why you would take Grapeseed Extract. The reason I ask is that I once read it is good for cellulite when mixed with some other stuff and I therefore wondered what else it is good for. Thanks!@ |

This is what it shows in all websites talking about grape seed extract:
The ingredients in Grape Seed-Skin Extract show that they:
• Work with glutathione to restore oxidized vitamin C.
• Cross the blood brain barrier to provide antioxidant protection to brain and spinal nerves.
• Remove lipofuscin and prevent its formation in the brain and heart.
• Bind to collagen fibers, increasing elasticity and flexibility in muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
• Act as smooth muscle relaxants in blood vessels. |

I heard that it is being discovered to help keep you from tanning. Has anyone else heard this? |

Well I live in Australia, so my brand recommendation won't help you much. However I can tell you that I took 6000mg of this per day for a while. On the beginning I could see a huge difference in my energy levels. I'd wake up in the morning (without an alarm clock! ) and I'd be perfectly rested. Very unusual for me because I'm often tired. I felt great on it but eventually stopped taking it because I'm terrible with taking vitamins and I can never make it a habit....

I am not sure about prevention from tanning but it's antioxidant so for sure it will keep your skin fair and it is 20x more effective than taking vit. c and 50x more for vit e (I may have mixed them up but it's either one or the other )
Mabsy> 6000mg??!! Did some study on the web about this amazing stuff and the suggested daily intake dosage should be in accordance to your weight (i.e. 1mg / 1lb). Its equally important to check out how many mg each capsule contains and the % of OPC (or POC or whatever they like to call it :P). So far the best I found is 100mg and 95% OPC... but someone also stated that a lot of them from U.S. are not FDA approved... .. |

Tartufo,
Sorry, the 6000mg is the "equivalent to dry grape seed" weight. It's actually 42.5mg of Procyanidins. The most I found was 12000mg which has 85mg in it.
