Okay, its minus 25C right now and my skin is suffering big time! What would you recommend for these chilly Canadian winters? I'd prefer something that I can purchase in a drugstore or retail outlet that doesn't cost a small fortune. TIA!
a lot of ppl gave me a compliment coz of my skin are sooo soft. And this is what I use everyday...cheap..and work really well. Curel advance healing..=). Once a week I used a srub that i bought in spa in Indonesia..oh wow that works really really well. If i do go home, I'll buy a box and resell it ..hehehe.
Hope this helps |

Well, the Scottish blood in me wants to save money even though the Canadian winter skin gets dry and itchy. I have to admit that using baby oil seems to add wonders to my skin after the shower (I put it on while still wet) and some has aloe added and/or vitamin e. Others are more fragrance free if that's not something you want. When I am stuck and forgot to get a new bottle, I run to the kitchen and use olive oil.
When I absolutely have to buy something I use the Vasoline Itensive Skin Care or whatever might have some Shea Butter in it. |

I had terrible winter skin for years on my legs and waist and would scratch until I bled. Then someone on another board told me about AM Lactin. You can get it at your local drug store. I guess some would say it has bad stuff in it - Parabens and even mineral oil. But it is cheap and for me it changed my life. I am on the lookout for somthing healthier but all the ones I try feel sticky on my skin or don't work as well. So for now, I can't get through winters without this. Worth a try. Great for my elbow skin too. Let me know if you try this. I was so happy to find a cheap solution. |

The best thing I've found so far is using Paula's Choice Skin Revealing Body Lotion with 10% Alpha Hydroxy Acid about 3-4 times per week. I wait about 30 minutes then use one of my favorite body lotions on top. The other nights I just use body lotion only.
I also use an inexpensive humidifier in my bedroom all through the winter.

After I've turned off the water I'm wipe off excess water with my hands and then I'll rub johnson's baby oil with aloe vera into my skin. I get really dry skin too and this has helped me, although I do need extra moisture on some spots like my feet. hth! |

i live in london where its always cold it seems. it took me ages after i moved here to find a good, affordable body lotion that was available everywhere and soaked in nicely without being sticky. i LOVE palmer's body butter lotion, they make a non scented one so you dont have to walk about smelling like coconut all day! |
