Hi everyone:
Over the last few months, I have tried several minerals makeups but I have not found one that I feel makes my skin look natural. Perhaps I'm just picking the wrong colors.
I avoided gloMinerals because it has bismuth oxychloride in it and I have read that it makes a lot of people itchy and reactive. I woulnd't consider gloMinerals a real mineral makeup, since it contains quite a few other ingredients --I'm used to only seeing zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, and mica in most mineral makeups. I am thinking about giving it a try because it has other ingredients that might make my made up skin look more natural then other mineral makeups.
Has anyone used gloMinerals and had good or bad reactions?
Cheers |

I'm using it at the present, and I haven't had any reactions so far. I switched from BE because Glo has a much wider color selection (but ended up being matched to a shade that was too yellow). I have both the pressed and the loose, and while they're both the same color according to name, only the pressed one, which I purchased first is an actual color match to my skin.
The finish is more natural and not shiny like some other MMU brands, for instance BE. So if you're after a natural finish, Glo is definitely the choice. |

Hi:
Thanks for your response!
You said the color that you choose was too yellow. I am definitely yellow based so I was wondering what color you choose?
I am an NC 20 in MAC. Any color suggestions? |

My skintone is light-medium, I would say, and definitely yellowtoned. Maybe MAC NC25 or 30, depending on the formulation.
The color I have, and which is right in the Glopressed, is the one called Honey light. The ones called "golden" are somehow lighter than the honey tones. Oh crap, I'm bad at descriptions.
Most people I know are a bit lighter than me (I'm from Norway, after all! ), and they wear golden light. Personally, I would probably try one of the natural-colors instead, to even out some of the yellow.
But it's also a matter of personal taste, as much as of the color of your skin. |

Nothing to do with foundation but I bought the GloMinerals Peach Eyeliner from EDS.
The liner is quite smooth and deposits colour nicely. It comes with a smudger on the other end, saving me the trouble of buying a smudger brush . The colour peach is a little bit darker than what is shown on the EDS colour. It is just a teeny bit light than my waterline actually. So...if I had seen this in real life I most likely would not have bought it because I wanted to use it to brighten my eyes and it is just too dark for that purpose. |

I use their concealer (Which is GREAT) and I have their pressed powder base. I used it in the summer and really liked it. No reactions and no itchy skin. I havent used it in a while b/c the color is too dark for my winter white skin. I would say overall that I like BE better or even Amoraleigh. |

I forgot to say, but I am applying even the pressed base with the Glo Ultra Brush, which is simply AMAZING
I'm still contemplating whether I should go for the Glopressed in the same color next time, or whether I should go back to BE (which is not a total match, but which makes me look fresher? somehow). Or buy both, which is probably the most likely option. |

I had purchased the whole line of BE, but found I couldn't use it because it makes my face itch like crazy. Plus, my face gets oily and I feel like I end up with a mucky oil spill by the end of the day, even with touch-ups. So after not using any makeup for the longest, I decided to give GloMinerals a try as per the recommendation of a doctor. I have been using the GloMinerals pressed base for about a week now and I really like it so far. I haven't had any itching at all--hooray! I haven't experienced any clogged pores or any breakouts from it, either!
I think it gives me nice coverage (I apply a little extra on my jaw line hyperpigmentation and acne marks). My face isn't as oily as with the BE, though I do have to do a touch-up/blotting in the afternoon across my forehead area. My only complaint is that they don't make a blush in my favorite color, but I can live with their color selections. It's winter right now where I live, and I only wonder how GloMinerals will hold up in hot summer weather . . . |

I bought Glominerals compact pressed base in Golden Light. It made my face look extremely oil after just a few hours. Other MMU's don't do that...don't know what it was about this one. |

my skintone is midium light with a hint of yellow.
i choose golden and find it is very suitable for my asian pale tone
there is no pink in the base so after the applying my face looks flawless and natrual. |

Update: I have been using the GloMinerals pressed base foundation for a little over a week now and I really love it! I have been using the applicator sponge for application, but yesterday I decided to try it using a MMU brush (BE Kabuki brush). My face was way too oily! I guess by using the brush it was like applying a MMU loose powder, which doesn't do well on my "grease pit". My face is very oily, and using the pressed powder and the applicator sponge that comes in the compact makes a huge difference for me. I simply cannot use loose powder MMU, but now that I've discovered the pressed base, I'm able to wear make-up again!

*PocoLoco, Did you apply it with the sponge or did you use a MMU brush? (Only the sponge works for my oily skin!) |

I used a brush to apply. I always end up looking too powdering when I apply MMU with a sponge. |

PocoLoco,
I get the dry/powdery look at first too, but then as my natural oils mix in with the GloMinerals, it takes on a very natural look. It only takes a little while for the transformation to take place. Please try it! |
