Can anyone rec me any? I want something light to put under my sunscreen so would prefer a serum. Ive started and stopped vit c many times, it just always seems to end up irritating my skin so looking for anything else that's a proven skin antioxidant.

Can anyone rec me something?

Thanks Very Happy

I'm using Berry beneficial by PSF - it is a good antioxidant moisturiser.

[A'kin] Rose de Mai, Anti-oxidant Day Creme and [A'kin] Lavender & Rose, Repairing Anti-oxidant Night Creme both have a great mix of anti-oxidant ingredients and I have never experienced any irritation whatsoever with these products.

I also like Janson-Beckett's Alpha Lipoic, Vitamin C Ester, DMAE Day Cream and Alpha Lipoic, Vitamin C Ester, DMAE Night Cream

and PSF's ALA complex is also a very good product.

Emma I looked at the PSF products here on EDS and couldnt see what you mentioned. Is that the exact name of the product?

kalegr, do you know what the texture of the ALA is like? Is it suitable for slightly oily skin?

I think for what you are looking for, the PSF Berry Beneficial would be excellent. I think this product will be a winner for PSF and I was also quite impressed with their new airless containers with safety seals.

It is made from squalane and ala and is therefore "oily" but best described as a thin oil, I apply a few drops to damp skin, it absorbs quite rapidly, my skin type is dry/normal with an oily t-zone. I've never experienced clogged pores or breakouts from this product. HTH Smile

Hi Emma! Very Happy

Have you done a review of the Berry Beneficial yet? I trust your opinion and I am hoping to try out some anti-oxident serums/cream. Got the Dr Brandt C-Gel, but with all the silicone in it I wonder if I will break out.

Two other options that are good.

Paulas Choice has a few good Antioxidant serums:
http://www.paulaschoice.com/shop/antioxidants.asp?ID=312

I also like I feel Preety Antiox serums, though it is thin like water, and sinks into skin immediately. It dows not leave any film on the skin, making it really nice under makeup, sunscreens or other products.

You can get it with or without DMAE.

Hi carolb69 - I've just gotten a sample of PSF Berry Beneficial Serum. It's light and dries matte, and layers well under SS and makeup. But according to Darren of PSF, it's not a substitute for l-ascorbic acid. Nevertheless, it' seems to be a very nice product!

If you want something in the same league as C, idebenone is comparable. It's the active in Prevage. While I don't personally care for Prevage, many forum members like it.

Another anti-oxidant I like is Caudalie Radiance Serum. This contains squalane so it's oilier than Berry Benenficial Serum. It's anti-ox property comes from vinopulp. I haven't used it much these last two months since I've been juggling so many other products (started DMAE and have been using SC CE+Ferulic twice a day just to see what happens). But I'm going to start it again. It's hard to describe exactly what it does, but all I can say is my skin looks better when I use it.

Good luck sorting it all out -- there are so many anti-oxidants to choose from!!!

another suggestion...
copper peptides

I think skin biology's cp serum would be fabulous under sunscreen and/or makeup.

I like the Juice Beauty Green Apple Antioxidant Serum. Smile I experienced brightening and just a better overall complexion while using it and it has DMAE, alpha lipoic acid, and co-enzyme Q10. These are probably in very small amounts, but every little bit does count. HTH!

It says on the psf berry serum to use morning and night. Does anyone know if I can use it at night with cps?

It should be fine with you copper. The only issue is your copper "might" weaken the Vit C in the product. But it probably has pleanty of other AOs to compensate. and copper has them also.

why not try kiehl's Lycopene Facial Moisturizing Lotion? When it's used with revive renewal moisturizing cream, you will be surprised by the result, ^_^

I have received a few PM's from people asking me to visit this thread to clarify if the Berry Beneficial can be used with copper peptides due to the Vitamin C in the Berry Beneficial. This is a little confusing to me since there is no Vitamin C in the Berry Beneficial Antioxidant Serum. Laughing We purposely created this antioxidant serum without vitamin c as an alternative choice for those who are also using CP's. So I'm just popping in to clarify! Sorry to burst in like this! Embarassed

Thanks for all the replies, never realsied there were so many antioxidant products out there.

I might try a few different ones and see what I like. Im also considering a different form of vit c as Ive used them before with no problems. Its just the L ascorbic acid which I dont like. They seem to suck the moisture out my skin and it looks a bit red.

I used to use one from the chemist here in Aus called face lift serum that had magnesium?? something in a serum/cream. It had C25 or something on the bottle but I cant remember who makes it.My skin glowed when I used it.

Ive never had the results I hear others talk about with L ascorbic acid.

Tangal, do you happen to have the ingredient list for the antioxidant mist from i feel pretty (the one without DMAE) or do you know here I could find it on the website? I looked but I only saw a few things listed in the product description, but no full list. Thanks in advance, Tangal!

Tangal had some very good info about vit. C. Maybe you could take a good look why irritation might cause to your skin. Hope it helps Smile
