I used Avene Thermal Water as a toner for couple of months and it didn't seem to do much for me. It does feel refreshing, but so does a splash of tap water. |

Katya,
Some people use a toner as a rinsing agent or an astringent however a toner should adjust the ph of your skin to neutral after cleansing, imo.
Take care.

I have used both as a toner. I'm not a huge fan of toners...I use them but I skip that step a lot. I sprayed then wiped it off with a cotton square then sprayed a little more to mix with my moisturizer. I liked the way it comes out in a constant stream unlike most pumps sprays or toners that need to go on a cotton ball first. You can get good coverage and it feels nice. I liked Vichy much better...it gave my cheeks a rosy glow and didnt feel as filmy as Avene. At the time I was using jojoba oil as a moisturizer and it took too long for my face to dry so I could apply the oil. I bet it would work better with a cream moisturizer. I used the vichy with tolerine...maybe that is why I liked it better. |

I don't really like toners. But I do use a thermal water just before applying my moisturizer. I like Avene the best. |

For a facial spritz during the day, I stick to Evian facial spritz haha. Tried Vichy's but didn't find that it did wonders so went back to Evian, which is cheaper too |

I wouldn't call a thermal water a facial toner as it really doesn't tone. It does help to hydrate temporarily so it's good for people who live in dry climates or for people who work in offices or areas where there is a lot of recycled and dry air. I remember when I was a flight attendant I liked using a thermal water spritz because it was a nice refreshing pick me up and helped my skin remain more supple and hydrated. A toner is something I use daily after cleansing to help "tone" the skin and tighten pores. For me a toner is more useful. Both are good products in my book if you require them, but they each serve different needs. |
