Does it always have to be smoky eyes? What about the cheeks, is it necessary to have the blush more prominent?
Can one wear nude lips with little to no makeup?
Sorry if this sounds silly. I'm rediscovering the art of makeup... |

IMO (I'm no makeup artist or anything) but nude lips always makes me think of "naked" looks so I would say yes to the little to no makeup. However it does depend on your complexion because you don't want to look sick with nude lips so I suggest blush is a must. Doesn't have to be more prominent but something more natural tones - I'm thinking something with more brown or rosy tones. In other words a warmer toned blush but with a light hand so it gives you a healthy dose of color. I think I'd like to go with a nude eye as well (makeup or no makeup) but a nice black glossy mascara to finish up the look. |

I asked a MAC artist this question once. She told me to either do lips and cheeks, or eyes and cheeks. (as far as which features to play up) Since my eyes are my best feature, I almost always do nude lips, and then more attention to eyes and cheeks. |

I think it also depends on the nude. Some nudes are basically the mod look and need strong eye emphasis. However the nude of Angelina Jolie is warmer and a bit darker than her skin so so can just do a simple eye and still look good.
I actually went up to a SA at a counter and told them I wanted to have an everyday nude. She then nicely tested out a number of different colours on me. |
