Hi all,
Been using Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream for a good few months now and although my skin looks more defined I’m sure I have actually gained more blocked pores then lost them!
So its time for a change... I think maybe with the Cleansing Cream I wasn’t applying it to my face in the proper manner and the fact I never felt properly cleansed when I used it.
I need something that I can use evenings and nights which is going to remove impurities, feel like its deeply cleansed my skin and help unblock my pores!
Only thing I’ve considered trying is Juice Beauty Cleansing Gel as I have the apple peel in this range. Anyone recommend anything else that has been effective?
Thanks |

Can you share more about the type of skin you have?
That will help folks share their opinions in regards to what type of cleanser would be best for you. |

It would be a little more helpful if we knew your skin type, Im using a CC so I'll give you my experience with it. I have oily skin and Im prone to clogged pores and dehydration. I started using Burts Bees CC about a month ago. I really love it. It cleans really well and leaves my skin soft and moisture intacted. At night when I use it to remove makeup I wash it off with a soft cloth. I also like to appy it to a dry face, rub all over, wet hands and massage into face for several mins, rinse well with water/cloth. It hasnt made me breakout at all and I think its helping balance my oil production as well. Cleans pores really well and its slightly minty, very refeshing.
Ingredients:
Water, Sunflower Oil, Stearic Acid (Vegetable Fat), Vegetable Glycerin, Emulsifying Wax, Coconut Oil, Sodium Borate (Natural Borax), Cetyl Alcohol, Silica, Glucose (Sugar), Witch Hazel Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Chamomile Extract, Echinacea (coneflower), Quillaja (Soap Bark), Cocoabutter, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Tocopherol (*Vitamin E), Lemon Oil, Cilantro Oil, Tarragon Oil, Lavandin Oil, Jasmine Oil, Xanthan Gum (Natural Thickener), Sucrose Stearate (Sugar Emulsifier), Menthol, Glucose Oxidase, Lactoperoxidase (Natural Preservative). |

I've been using DHCC for almost a year now and quite like it. I've also tried Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant and really like the effect it had on my skin and how smooth my skin felt after using it.
You use about a good sized pinch (EDS recommends 1/2 tsp ... which depending on the size of your fingers, is pretty much the same amount) and rub it in your hands (they have to be a little wet first) and then apply to your face! It's wonderful! |

Sorry I forgot to add - I use this as an exfoliant ... and not as a cleanser (not too sure what specifically you were looking for). |

I am a recent convert to the Oil Cleansing Method (OCM) and use 50/50 castor oil and extra virgin olive oil with a few drops of mandarin oil for fragrance. The theory is that oil cleanses oil. I use this method for removing makeup and afterwards use a mild toner. I have found that it removes all traces of makeup (the pad with the toner is free of dirt after toning) whereas with commercial products the toner pads always show some residue of makeup. I think my pores and definitely looking better - what blackheads I do have left come out very easily. It feels nourishing to the skin and does NOT make your skin more oily. |

I just started using Earth Science's clarifying cleanser. It's pH is 5 and it's really cheap (sold at health food stores like whole foods). My skin is prone to dryness and acne and it hasn't been drying, it's also really helped keep my skin clear. Dr. H's CC clogged my pores a lot. I was using 100% pure's seafoam cleanser, but I really needed something cheaper. |

It is safe to use Cellcosmet cleansing cream. I have not tried the foaming one.
Majority dermos favour Cetaphil. |

DHCC clogged my pores too!!!! I like Juice Beauty's Green Apple Cleanser--- if you like the Green Apple Peel you might like the cleanser too. Right now I'm using the Triple Lavender Face Foam from greatnewskin.com and it is GORGEOUS--- cleans thoroughly but gently and I love the smell. (Amy---the lady who created it--- really hit a home run, IMO!) Unfortunately since it's a brand new product it's only available as part of a skincare set, but if you contact Amy via her website she might agree to sell it to you separately. On that website you can also get a microderm scrub called Edpidermx which unclogs pores like you wouldn't believe! I'm using it every day right now and I can't believe how quickly I'm getting results.
When my skin first got all messed up from DHCC I used a line called Zenbiotic (www.zenbiotic.com) to re-balance and unclog it, and it helped a lot. Unfortunately I can't use the cleanser they sell because I'm allergic to castor oil, but it's affordable and a lot of people really seem to like it. I have their rinseless cleanser (just spray it on and wipe it off with a cotton pad) and I LOVE it.
One last suggestion: atwww.bestbathstore.com they sell an acne bar which is supposed to be gentle but deep-cleansing. Again I can't use it (darn castor oil!!!!), but I've heard good things about it and you can actually request a free sample so you can try it and see how you like it.
Good luck--- I know right now it feels like your skin will never be un-clogged again, but you can do it! Please keep us updated! |

My absolute favourite is the Cellcosmet Cleansing Gel but I also tried the ISC Cleanser and this was also quite a good cleanser. |

Perhaps you can go back the basics and use Spectro gel. It is so mild and nice that I can't imagine anyone having a problem with it. |

I second Spectro gel. It's a very nice and gentle cleanser. If you have dry skin, Spectro Derm is even better. |

I've just tried the sample of Yon-Ka Cleansing Gel and I think it's a bit too drying for me as my skin is quite dry at the moment. Maybe I'll use it in summer. I sooooooo wanna love the product as a little go a long way so I won't use it up too quickly. I'm using the Cleansing Milk and I'm afraid it's gonna be gone in no time Do you find that the Cleansing Gel clean sunscreen well? |

How about PSF Papaya cleansing gel? I've been using this for several weeks. I feel it really leaves my skin clean and smooth, and it has not blocked my pores. It's also relatively inexpensive. |

I am using the Yonka Gel Nettoyant based on rave reviews--IMHO it definitely deserves them! I really really like this cleanser.

lynn2525, in case this helps, I have sensitive skin and at first also found it a bit drying. But then I think my skin must have adjusted because after the third or fourth time using it, I didn't find it drying anymore. I use it with the Yonka Lotion which I also really really like. |
