Anyone know of any good tinted moisturizer for pale & combination skin? I tried Lancome but it's a bit too dark for my skin tone. I prefer something that has SPF in it for combo skin. If anyone out there try any, pls share, thanks! |

Try Elizabeth Arden in Fair, or Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer. It does come in several shades. |

CDLM the tinted moist.-I know...$$$ but I've tried them all & love the glowy (not oily) look. I've also had it for 7 months now & still have a lot eft-you use so little. The only thing thing I'm not sure of is how light the 'light' color is..'ve heard they were supposed to come out with 'extra light'.
As an aside, I don't like anything else from CDLM |

I like Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer (comes in different colors), Dermalogica and juice organics. They all make nice ones...and I'm really pale. |

Oh I'm using Laura Mercier in Sand, but I find it not moisturizing enough. I love the shade though as it really enhances my tan. I suggested Elizabeth Arden as their fair is very fair! |

I will be writing a full review on the following products soon, but here is a summary.
I have Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, which I think is just okay, not worth the $$$, and I've tried better drugstore brands (e.g., Almay). I definitely will not buy again.
I also have Stila tinted moisturizer, which I like even less than Laura Mercier. Stila's TM has no coverage, is kinda ashy, and is not a good moisturizer. I will not buy again.
Clinique's Almost Makeup works just like a tinted moisturizer. I liked this, but the product would separate, so I had to shake the tube each time. Coverage and moisture were okay, but not stellar. Effect did not last. I have a sneaky suspicion that it aggravated my rosacea, but with all the caffeine and sugar I consume at times, I can't be sure it is the cause.
N.V. Perricone's Active Tinted Moisturizer is just terrible. It balls up till you rub it in like crazy (not good for your skin), doesn't cover well, and looks awful. I hate that I bought it on a whim in the first place and didn't have time to return it.
For now I have given up on tinted moisturizers (my wallet needs a break from trying to find a good product). What I found that works for me and that I am happy with (but not thrilled so eventually I will look again) is to apply a nice moisturizer with SPF and then to apply Jane Iredale's Pure Pressed Foundation over top.

Clarins has a nice TM. Not sure if the lightest colour will suit you. I only used a medium shade. The SPF is not enough. Don't rely on TM to get sun protection. Wear sunscreen underneath it. |

I'm very fair and Bobbi Brown's Alabaster tinted moisturizer is an amazing shade. It has SPF 15, but don't count on it (or any tinted moisturizer) to give you enough protection for the day. Her other shades are great neutrals as well and the texture is lovely! |

I like Laura Mercier, they come in different colors. But it is better for combination/oily skin or it may be too dry for other. |

I'm also a fair-skinned Laura Mercier fan - I wear the tinted moisturizer spf 20 in "nude". I've been using it for a few years now, but literally fought the SA when she suggested I try it - I was like, "I need more coverage!" "I have oily skin and I don't want a moisturizer, this will never work for me!" (this was before they had the oil-free formula). I actually took her name and made her promise that I could bring it back for a full refund if I didn't like it, but I ended up loving it and have used it ever since. It is slightly pricey, but a tube will last me almost a year. |

also jumping on the laura mercier bandwagon. It's fantastic for combination skin. Never makes me breakout, and has just enough coverage without looking like I wear makeup. I am pretty fair with freckles and I use nude. I would say the colors are pretty neutral, so if you are a really cool fair, it might be a bit difficult to match.
but yeah, my last tube lasted 6 months, and I figure $40 is ok because I don't need a separate spf/day moisturizer.
If you get an oily t zone, something like the jurlique silk dust or another oil absorbing setting powder is good.
I did not like the dermalogica or juice beauty ones (and I use the regular moisturizers from both brands). I didn't think they blended as well into my skin. |

I hope that all of the Mercier fans use a separate sunscreen as well because their TM doesn't have a UVA block, just UVB.
I couldn't find a decent TM so what I've been doing over the last couple of weeks is using Clarins UV Plus SPF 40 (which has Titanium Dioxide as a physical block) and I mix in some loose Jane Iredale Minerals to add some color. Works relatively well, lasts throughtout the day, and I'm figuring that I'm getting at least an SPF of 20 or so. I also put a light dusting of Jane Iredale on top as well. |

that's interesting, I didn't know that there wasn't any UVA protection in LM. I thought chemical sunscreens at least blocked UVA in part? oh well, it's not like I see enough sun in the winter to care, and in the summer I tend to use a physical block because I sweat all the LM off. I know, I know, I'm supposed to wear sunscreen even if I'm sleeping in a cave, but eh. |

I love using tinted moisturizers when I feel my skin is okay.
My fave is Becca - just incredible feel.
2nd is Nuxe - just got this but they only have Light and Dark.
3rd is Laura Mercier. |

I tried Laura Mercier, their products was fine, however it disappeared very fast. I wish it has higher SPF coverage, it only offer 20. I don't want to put on more sunscreen in summer.
I also tried Dr. Perricone's tinted moisturizer. I didn't like it at all, which cost $65. It just won't stick on my face, it will dry out and peel off. Don't waste your money on it. |

To me, I find Laura Mercier TM gives really good coverage. But then again, I don't really have anything to cover, except to even out my skin tone a bit. It's not moisturizing enough for me, so I use my La Mer serum underneath and also my Anessa Sunscreen SPF 50 with it. However, now that my skin is so dry and tight, I just mix a little bit of Laura Mercier Foundation with my moisturizer and use it as my tinted moisturizer when I need to wear makeup. Otherwise, I'm makeup free 350 days a year |

Hi lynn,
What a good idea of mixing the foundation with moisturizer. I will try that too. |

Yeah it save a lot of time and also money as you won't have to run out to buy a seperate tinted moisturizer. It gives a natural nice coverage and the coverage is easily adjustable(the more coverage you want the more foundation you mix in, and less moisturizer). A bottle of foundation will last me over 2 years going at the rate how often I wear makeup. So, to use up my last bottle of Chanel foundation, I mix it with moisturizer and use it as my tinted moisturizer. I didn't have to spend ages applying it like I would foundation and no need to dust it with loose powder either (although you could if you have oily skin). Using it this way, I managed to finish the bottle in a bit over a year. |

I have to add the Dermalogica Sheer Moisture Tint SPF15 in Light is really nice. I'm a MAC NW15 and the shade is just right on me and it has a really nice finish to it. I really wanted to try the Laura Mercier as well (after reading all the great reviews), but Sephora doesn't ship it to Canada. |

Vincent Longo Liquid Canvas Dew Finish Foundation.
although it's called a foundation, it's really light and sheer (sheerer than a lot of TMs). it's never broken me out (which a lot of TMs have done). it looks very natural, to the point that MUAs in the department store always itch to put foundation on me as they think i'm running around naked. their lightest colour Porcelain is one of the few truly neutral foundations without being ashy or yellowy that i've found (it may have a hint of pink, but then so do i). if you *do* have yellow, i think they just came out with a warmer porcelain. a lot of people overlook this product because it's not what VL is famous for, but it is a truly lovely TM.

Thanks everyone for sharing! I guess I might give Dermalogica TM a try since they have it right here on EDS. BTW, will this be too oily for my combo skin? Also, I'm just wondering about the coverage. I have some minor redness and pimple marks, will that even them out? Did anyone try putting it under ur eyecircles? Anywayz, thanks! |
