Hi there,
Just wanted an advice on how to use Decleor Aromessence Rose d'Orient. I got a sample of thsi product with my purchase but I'm not sure how to use it properly. I put it on my face but my skin did not absorb it at all but left an oily layer Sad . It is for a daily use or it is just for a massage. Sorry if my question sounds a bit silly but i really dont know what to do with it. Embarassed

It is not for massage, but you need to make sure it is right for your skin. I have oily skin and wouldn't use the Rose, but the Ylang Ylang and Essential Balms work wonders for me.

If you aren't on the normal to dry side (it is geared towards sensitive skin, but being oily, I found it way too much for my face) that might explain the oily layer you mentioned.

Maybe you're applying too much? You only need the tiniest amount of the Aromessence oils.

hadn't thought of that!
Good point fifi! I know if I put even the slightest bit too much on, it takes longer to soak in.

I mix mine with the PSF Hyralonic Acid serum and that makes the Decleor sink in a lot better. I find that I use mainly the Ylang Ylang but my second choice is the Rose d'Orient.

Thank you all for your advice, i forgot to mention that my skin is super dehydrated, so I thought the oil would help, but it does not seem to be working on me + i can't put any foundation on it straight away afterwards and it doesnt help when you rush in the.
I guess ill try my new Thalgo products now, maybe they will finally properly moisturise my extremely dry skin, ill let you know anyway. Thanx again Cool

It is great for soothing sensitive or reactive skin and I find it is easier to apply if my skin is slightly damp or at least not super dry. I use it like the other Decléor oils--two (maybe 3) drops warmed up in the palm of the hand and then apply by using the fingertips to press specific pressure points on either side of my face, finishing with light sweeping strokes, a.k.a. the Decléor accupressure method which I found out how to do via a great link posted by K.A.T. http://www.skin-beauty.com/deskca.html

If you have super dry skin, the Decléor Aromessence Angelique followed by one of the Nutri-Delice creams really makes a difference.

i know this thread was pulled back from the dead, but just want to say...

The best way to apply rich oils such as this one is to massage it into damp skin, whether damp from just washing or damp from spritzing your favorite toner or floral water.
the oil will absorb a lot faster and leave smooth, velvety skin.

you can also use oils as a boost to your favorite moisturizer if you are feeling extra dry or would like to add the 'benefit' contained in the oil blend.

but be careful if your moisturizer isn't a basic one--the oils could potentially interfere with actives.

I really like the Decleor aromessences, but you only need to use a tiny drop, massage it lightly in, then apply moisturizer on top. These aromessences are not for separate use, but always go onto clean skin before any other products. Smile

You could watch a video presentation:

or read up about it:

The key is the amount. You need a tiny bit and keep massaging it. You will need a small amount of cream after if any at all. I Love Decleor.

I use this stuff almost daily. I take two drops, massage in my palm onto myfinger tips then massage throughout my face and take deep breaths.

For me it takes a while to dry fully, about 30 min or so.

I put it directly on my skin

I cleanse with Decleor cleansing milk , wipe off with cotton
Then spray Tonyfing lotion , wipe off with cotton

Wait for face to dry (5 min)

Massage Rose Dorient, about two drops. (I take my sweet sweet time massaging my face)

Then I put on the light creme L'age (dont recall exact name and too lazy to go look) - i use this as my mosturizer about 20-30 min after the oil.
