I was watching Good Morning America with interest when they reported on results by Consumer Reports regarding the effectiveness of anti-wrinkle creams. Apparantly the most effective was Regenerist, by Oil of Olay $60 USD opposed to La Prairie, over $300 USD. They used instruments to measure the actual reduction of wrinkles and Oil of Olay was only effective in reducing them by 10%.
I don't know if they included any natural organic products or if this means an inevitable trip to a plastic surgeon

I find that a very superficial article, but I do agree that fixing wrinkles with a cream or topical is elusive. When I look at mine I would say extremely 'minimized', but never totally evaporated. On the plus side though the lines below my eyes appeared nearly 10 years ago so all the anti-oxidants and collagen stimulators have done a lot of preventative work and I've got lovely skin tone and glow.
When I look at my peer group who are now getting big crags and droopiness and don't know what to do about it I consider it lucky that I had to start panicking early.
So wrinkle reduction is slow and minimal, but prevention is more worthwhile.
They don't consider acids either which play a big part in wrinkle fixing. |
