Hi all!
I just heard about this cream called "wrecking ball" that is supposed to fade tattoos in 3 months.
upon further internet research I came across a few interesting thoughts about non-laser tattoo removal.
some people talked about TCA peels - I saw scalawaggirl's process through her at-home TCA peels.
do you all think this might work for a tattoo?
I also read about using hydroquinone cream from the drug store?
what are you thoughts about this also?
and then I read some conspiracy theory that dermatologists don't offer these options for tattoo removal because they make more money off lasers!! haha |

I was so tempted to purchase those creams to fade my tatt but i'm a skeptic about it. From what I've heard, the creams will not permanently fade the tatt (it may just temporarily lighten it but I've never tried so I wouldn't know) and that laser is the only way to breakup the ink and after so many treatments it fades.
I've been going to get mine removed via laser. I found a great place that doesn't charge an arm and a leg like the dermatologist office. I went to this derm's office (supposedly top notch) but I felt like I was at a car dealership. They quoted my small tatt for a bargin price of $8000 for 12 treatments but will give me a discout and give it to me for $7500 if I pay upfront. I started to laugh. Than he told me to think about it and left me in the room. There's nothing to think about. Than the actually doctor came in (a supposed professional) looks at my tatt. Than he asked me where I had gone before to get it removed. I said to this asian derm doctor. The doctor says "You should go gather your friends of gang members and go burn down that office". I just stared at him and started to laugh out loud. What the hell, he thinks I'm a gangster. So ignorant. I just said I'm leaving. As I'm walking out, I see about 15 people in his waiting room (most of them for acne) and I'm thinking, gosh, ya'll getting ripped off by a nutcase.
The place I found they are so much better. Nothing fancy, no ego's, just here to help people. They actually know what they are talking about. I told them what happen to me at the derm's office and they were just blown away.
This coming saturday will be my 6th time going. It's really fading away. I have yellow and green, which are the hardest to fade. Black and red the easiest. This place uses two types of laser, one to treat the colors and the other one for black. I'm really happy with the results I am getting now, couple of more visits to go. Woohoo! |
